I would say most definitely.

My daughter is a special needs teacher and teaching autistic children leaves her drained, frustrated and exhausted.

I feel it would be sensible if we let ourselves be guided on this issue by the FULL OFFICIAL MEDICAL TERM for this condition which is;- Autism spectrum DISORDER, A.D.S.

A.D.S., is described as a neurological development DISORDER that affects how people interact with each other, communicate, learn and behave.

IT IS DESCRIBED AS A ''DEVELOPMENT DISORDER'' BECAUSE SYMPTOMS USUALLY APPEAR IN THE FIRST TWO YEARS OF LIFE.

Well, I don't know about you but I think I'll run with the medical professional's terminology here and call Autism Spectrum DISORDER A DISORDER.

Hi E,

I feel our reply must be in accordance with the underlying essence of the question.

As autism is a complex and wide ranging medical condition which causes the sufferer as well as his/her family and wider social group extreme stress I am of the opinion that we must treat the subject with sensitivity and only comment within the parameters of the specialist medical professional's descriptions.

These include specially trained teachers,( of whom my daughter is one) pediatricians, psychologists, speech and language therapists and/or psychiatrists.

One of my daughter's autistic pupils was playing soccer this morning in the same team as my grandson.

He played well and showed great enthusiasm, but was too interested in waving at his teacher, who was also my daughter, and myself.

So, I'll still run with allying my expressions of this quite common condition with those of the dedicated expert medical professionals.

Apparently this disorder is very much on the increase but the reasons for this being so has not been fully established.

Unsubstantiated speculation accuses the toxicity of commonly used food additives and the presence of microplastics in almost everything we use from plastic bags, textiles, fishing nets and car tires, which, by the way are a major contributory factor to the presence of these minute poisonous particles in our oceans.

The speculation continues to propound the narrative that these microplastics along with harmful food additives and preservatives adversely affect the purity and therefore the potency of the male sperm causing malfunctions in the development of the unborn fetus and a decrease in pregnancies.

This is a common misconception. The vast majority of autistic people do NOT have savants syndrome. Please learn more about something before running your mouth.

Autism varies greatly in degree. On one end of the spectrum autism is a severe disability. On the end autism is almost negligible, maybe even an advantage.

"Fringe groups continue to promote a bleach-based treatment to cure autism. However, medical experts say ingesting bleach can cause serious health problems."

Parents wouldn't resort to such harmful methods if autism wasn't severe sometimes.

Supporting Evidence: Bleach therapy for autism is child abuse. (www.healthline.com)

Is Autism A Disorder

Hello:

I wouldn't call it a disorder.. It's a syndrome for sure, that we don't quite understand.

Those who can remember everything that has ever happened to them in their entire lives can't be said to be suffering a "disorder".. Instead of writing them off, we ought to find out how they do that shit.
