Is Disney good for children?

Yes

Talking Animals! Stories teaching morals! Magic! Violence! Impossible things all over the place! It is a lot like the Bible, except women are usually portrayed better and nobody takes Disney Movies too seriously. And Disney's theme parks are a lot more fun than the Vatican.

Oh wow, another atheist who likes to drag religion into every debate. Like we haven't got enough of those...

Actually, I thought the timing was hilarious since I saw you made this post right after I likened the Bible to a Disney film. Couldn't help myself.

What is wrong with imagination for children? Disney is harmless. Children are innocent, and Disney provides that innocence with family fun.

Innocence? It creates a world where good triumphs evil, but good can only triumph if there's evil to defeat. Thus, children start looking for enemies whom they can attack.

Wow, Axmeister has an imagination for himself. So, if Disney is bad for children, why haven't you come up with something better?

Disney is a selfish money hungry company. They care about nothing but money and. money is the exact reason why they shut down lucas arts. Disney use to be good but today its nothing more then a corrupted money hungry selfish piece of shit. Disney can go fuck themselves!

Nothing wrong with Disney movies, although the TV programmes they make are pretty awful. What I dont like about Disney is their attempts to control actors for instance when Johnny Depp signed up for the Pirates Films there was a clause in his contract that said that if he made a film that did'nt fit with Disney's views he was not allowed to promote it so when he made the Rum Diaries he was not allowed to talk about the movie in interviews etc this I think is wrong.

Side: Yes

Some of it is and some of it isn't the ones from my time growing up were just right now it is getting somewhat worse.

If you think Disney isn't good for children, you have obviously never been to Disney, go there there first.

Yeah, once you go to Disney you get the real magical experience of forking over hundreds of pounds to please your children.

Side: No

Disney is a product of entertainment for children, nothing more or less. Anything else is a crazy conspiracy.

Side: Yes

YEA I THINK IT IS PRETTY GOOD BUT YOU HAVE TO WAIT IN LINE FOREVER BEFORE YOUR CHILD GETS ON A RIDE AND HALF TEH TIME YOU HAVE TO RIDE WITH THEM IT ISMT LIKE SIX FLAGS

Side: Yes

It is entertainment for the kids and a treat for them too. Kids can enjoy for the first 2 years while brain development occurs to help them improve walking

Side: Yes

LET KIDS BE KIDS AS WE ALL WERE AND ENJOY DISNEY EVEN THOUGH THEY HAVE BECOME SO COMMERCIALIZED AND OUT FOR BIG PROFITS LOSING SOME OF THEIR GOOD OLD FAMILY VALUES .

Side: Yes

I grew up in the golden age of disney movies and I didn't turn out a violent crazy animal living in fairytales. People think kids will take it so seriously and try to live out the movies in everyday life. The most theyll do is dress up and play, or play with the toys, or just have fun with their imaginations which promotes creativity. Also, disney movies are full of great morals and life lessons. Teamwork, responsibility, ect. That's what I've taken from them. There isn't a crazy amount of violence and if you think there is you're a pussy or just way over politically correct. Disney movies are fantastic family entertainment and have been for years (were talkin about the movies not those shitty ass shows on the channel). This world us getting too politically correct turning kids into unimaginative backbone-less sacks. Kids need a spine. Stop "protecting" from harmless things. DISNEY FOREVER WHOO ALADIN!!

What is wrong with a bit of Disney??!!

Children love fairy tales and they learn from them. Its the best thing for young children and maybe if it was tested children who watch more Disney would know more about the creative mind than normal children!

Or am i speaking a load of dribble?

Side: Yes

Disney's cartoons not only develop children's imagination, but also they show them how to love, how to have lots of friends and how not to give up in difficult situations. I grew up on these cartoons and I can surely say that they influenced on me in a good way.

Outside of the phallic symbols you can see if you freeze frame the movie, yes.

Side: Yes

Children love animation and they love theme parks, so, Disney is good for children.

All y'all needa calm down. Your taking Disney wayyy to literally. Their just fairy tales and kids know better then to literally copy the characters. Its not like they dont grow up. Kids later on know the truth. Y'all are underestimating kids. They're smarter then that. Plus its not like they show little kids falling in love and stuff. They show older adults and when they wanna become like that, they'll know that they needa be older. But when they get older they'll know that those things don't happen. Its not gonna crush their dreams cause they'll be mature. C'mon guys. Chill.

Disney films are just for fun and for everyone. No child takes it overly seriously, the most my brother does when he watches Disney is pretend to be his favourite character :P But doesn't that promote imagination? Which is a key thing to have in life :) Also who doesn't love a good Disney film. They're the films I watched when I was a kid :D

imagine your kid running around naked like tarzan, breaking curfew to find true love like cinderella, or running running way from home and start living with seven men (dwarfs) like snow white. you see my point?

Isn't that the reason that we teach children the meaning of a fairy tale? Like most disney films are, the child's likely to know that it's not real. But I can see your point.

I would rather a child be playing happily with Disney Dolls than winning an award for largest levels of obesity in McDonald's Fast food might br harmful; happiness isn't.

Not really. But that doesn't mean that it is bad just because it's not good. I'm not sure what good it offers other than temporary entertainment.

Though I have met people that weren't allowed to watch Disney movies when they were kids and they're usually pretty weird. Not always but usually. I hope that doesn't offend anybody.

Kids who are sheltered and restricted an extreme amount usually tend to rebel. I watched pg 13 movies ever since I can remember and never really had a curfew and I turned out ok. But everybody is different.

Disney help kids learn to be sassy, rude, and violent, oh even seducing. Wow, Disney sure is educational. I think it was lion king. The movie had the word "sex" in it. The scene plays this way--the lion falls down by a cliff, which makes dust rise up and make that word for about 0.5 second then it disappears. Creepy. (Before, I thought if someone didn't watch Disney, then they did not have a life) What, witchcraft is not religion?

I'd say the animated Disney shows (and movies) are okay for kids, but not that non-animated shit that passes of for Disney, now.

Although, older Disney cartoons used to be pretty fucking creepy.

Well, it depends. If you're watching some nice cartoon, it's kinda good. But when you're watching a show such as Jessie or Good luck Charlie, there are jokes that are not really appropriate for children. I've seen people connecting Disney channel with The Illuminati and masons, which can also be true. Overall, Disney talks about Aladdin, who was a thief. Isn't that just enough?

Almost every kid in the world watches Disney Channel. And they turned out fine. Aladdin is just a kids movie. its not telling kids to go rob stores. if all these ppl are debating, that means most or all of them have watched disney channel or Alladin. none of them are robbers or thieves, I do think that Good luck charlie makes some jokes and kids ask how babies are from and the adults laugh and say ask the other parent, but what about mickey mouse? phineas and ferb? shake it up? and a bunch of other great children shows? we cant cancel all of disney channel out just because they made one bad joke

Let's look at ''Hannah Montana''. Hannah keeps being mean to her friends and it is apparetly ''funny''.

In ''The Little Mermaid'', the preist in the wedding get's an erection.

In ''The Rescuers'' they show a picture of a woman showing her breasts!

Explain!
