Well god doesn't exist, but if the god proposed by the main monotheistic religions is real, yes. And that's just the tip of the iceberg. He's also shallow, vindictive, cowardly, greedy, sadistic, psychotic, spiteful, egotistical, a warmonger, a liar, and a cheat, to name a few of his most distinctive traits. Side: Yes

I don't think god is real. I think the likelihood of him existing is roughly equal to any other fantasy based creature. But assuming he is real, his ways don't make much sense at all. Why does god condemn people to hell simply for not believing in him? A benevolent god would judge people on their merits, not on whether or not they believed in him. Why does god allow truly horrific crimes to be perpetrated on innocent people? Need an example? Google "40 year old man rapes child" and you will find numerous occasions of horrific crimes to innocent teenagers and children. Side: Yes
The Bible can help with the answer in that is says God creates evil. (Isaiah 45:7, KJV) - "I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the LORD do all these things." (Amos 3:6) - "Shall a trumpet be blown in the city, and the people not be afraid? shall there be evil in a city, and the LORD hath not done it?” Side: Yes

That depends on what you believe. If you're a christian you probably believe, that everything god does is for the greater good, even tho it seems like he is turning against us in our heads. If you're an atheist you probably believe that if God exist, then he is an evil God, because of war, pain and diseases of several kinds. Side: No

If you're an atheist you probably believe that if God exist, then he is an evil God, because of war, pain and diseases of several kinds. I'm an atheist but that's not why I think the god worshiped by Christians is evil. The world he supposedly created it actually the best thing I have ever know; no, I look at his hypothetical actions and I see evil. I see someone who is viciously ruthless, quick to take offense, and generally gives the impression he's a sadistic child with a magnifying glass who takes pleasure in frying ants (that's us, by the way) and who is psychotic enough to blame others for his actions in this regard. For argument sake, say God was to exist. He may have flooded the globe, and what have you, but it's positive punishment. How are we to learn to 'follow his ways' without a negative punishment to reinforce good behavior? If half the parents in the world took a discipline note from the bible maybe we'd have less lunatics in the world. No, I'm not saying smite your children, but at least give them a somewhat frightening consequence to their actions. Do you think so many people would really be as 'hardcore' religious if there was no punishment, such as world destruction and an eternity in 'hell' to fit the crime of sin? The wrath of God is caused by the majority of the human race betraying him, not due to him being so-called evil. Side: No

Except he was expecting us to be something we're not, expecting us to act a way other than the way he created us, and reacted with undue violence. To keep with your metaphor of children, parents, and punishment, this is more like a alcoholic father demanding his 3-year-old son mow the lawn, and then beating the shit out of him when the child inevitably fails. If god wanted perfect (in his eyes, free of sin) humans he should have created perfect humans instead of constantly punishing us for the nature he bestowed upon us. Side: Yes

I don't think God is evil. Most people view God as some powerful person, who watches you all time, punishes you for wrong (with hell) and rewards you for being good (with heaven), who has power to solve everything but won't, who is the reason for all our suffering, because he won't help us when we need him to, when we ask him to. God turns nasty, or evil, when people don't get what they want, when world is not the way people want it to be, when they believe God is unfair. Just like when a child wants something and the parent does not provide him with that in spite of the fact that he can afford his child wants...then what happens..then the parent becomes evil from the point of view of child...but that does not mean the parent is evil... If you can't get what you want, its not god's fault. He created this universe and then there is free will..He does not make you do things, he does not force you to make bad choices....it is human that get into ugly situation because of his own choices....so humans should take responsibility of their actions rather than blaming it on god. If there is war on earth, men are fighting it...so why blame god. Anyway as they say "Tat tvam asi" (Its you) (God is you) God is not autocrat up there...he is the life....when we worship god..we don't intend to worship the idol we have..we are respecting LIFE, NATURE...life that makes us different that that chair you sit on..... LIFE is not evil....NATURE is not evil....its our mind that are evil... Side: No
