If driving around in circles can be a sport, I suppose golf can be too lol. While golf probably isn't going to keep your heart rate up, or provide any sort of efficient cardie-aerobic workout, it definitely requires a refined physical skill involving hand to eye coordination and superior muscle memory. Bowling is another example of a sport which relies on physical precision rather than physical exertion. Practicing free-throws or 3-point jump shots in basketball is another. Curling, a rather popular sport in Canada is another example. Hell, shooting guns is even an Olympic sport. Side: Yes

Why wouldn't it be? I explained in the argument description why it wouldn't be considered one. Try learning to read; it will get you far in life. You do not have to be in shape, most of the golfers I've seen are fairly weighty and quite old. Some of them are demented or suffering Alzheimer's disease, so I wouldn't quite go with the "amazing mental awareness", but rather a good sense of mental skill in judging distance and speed. Side: No

I think golf is a game, not a sport. The dictionary defines it as an activity requiring physical exertion or prowess, neither of which golf requires. 70% of people who play golf are elderly and overweight, and they play very well. You don't even have to walk, let alone run, in golf thanks to golf carts. And don't give me that "In the pro tournaments you can't use a cart" crap; your caddie carries the heavy stuff for you, plus there was a handicapped participant who used to play in the tournaments and the supreme court deemed it okay to let him use a golf cart to get around the hole. That could never happen in any real sport. Side: No

. 70% of people who play golf are elderly and overweight, and they play very well That means nothing, a lot of elderly people play tennis and so do overweight people, but tennis is a sport. plus there was a handicapped participant who used to play in the tournaments Just because someone handicap plays doesn't mean it isn't a sport. Ever heard of wheelchair basketball? Side: Yes

That means nothing, a lot of elderly people play tennis and so do overweight people, but tennis is a sport. Tennis is a sport, and to be a pro you have to be lean and in prime condition. When retired old people play tennis they do little to no moving, simply stand there and lightly tap the ball over the net. You obviously haven't watched any professional tennis. Just because someone handicap plays doesn't mean it isn't a sport. Ever heard of wheelchair basketball? That isn't what I said. Handicapped people can't play regular sports; that's why other activities such as wheelchair basketball are created. And I do in fact consider wheelchair basketball specifically a sport, because it takes a lot of physical exertion, probably even more exertion than regular basketball, to roll a wheelchair around. You need a lot of upper body strength to roll not only yourself but the weight of the wheelchair around. Side: No

how can it be a sport when all you do is hit the ball with a stick and add commentators that make it sound as if you are lebron james winning the game with a buzzer beater? baseball has faster action then golf, bowling too. compare the speeds of athletes in soccer to the leisurely walking in golf. if golf is a sport then it is one for people with too much time on their hands.
