Is ISIS the biggest threat facing America? Or are internal matters still more im

Hello, Starchild here.

A topic was recently brought up about America's efforts to quell ISIS. Some were saying that ISIS poses no threat to America and we should remain focused on matters that are currently affecting Americanss. Others were saying that ISIS poses a threat to America and the ISIS brigade is spreading rapidly and needs to be immediately quelled. What is your opinion on the matter?

According to Obama "climate change" is the most pressing threat we face today. But that foolishness aside, there is zero reason to believe they are just kidding about raising their black flag over the White House. The thousands who have died at the hands of these monsters, and the tens of thousands of others who now live under their control, will not put anything past there sickos.

If, hypothetically, you believed that climate change existed, would you still disagree that it is the most pressing threat we face?

Nobody thinks they are, but they have no chance of achieving that. Simple threats do not make them a threat to us.

Sorry, I don't recall saying CC did not exist. But if you want to argue that point, or perhaps more importantly (Can we really change CC?) why not Createdebate it?

Simple threats do not make them a threat to us.

Beheading Christians, burning people alive, wanton barbarism and disregard for human life is in fact a threat to all of the civilized world. Simply because they can't murderer all 318.9 million of us, does not mean they can't hurt us.

ISIS is spreading rapidly in a part of the world that is strategically important to us and our allies TODAY, not some decade in the future when it gets hotter or colder or whatever its going to do.

Probably need some perspective here. DAESH is opposed by a majority of the region. It must first overcome all these sovereign states before even trying to attack the US. There would be more justification to fear North Korea than DAESH.

Internal Matters, for sure. Putting together the death toll from violent crimes, preventable illness, car accidents etc paints a pretty morbid picture in terms of fatalities that vastly outweigh those caused by every attack from Islamic extremists against this country, at home and abroad. ISIS simply does not have a chance of invading the United States, and even if they did somehow pull off another 9/11 (something that I seriously doubt will happen), they still wouldn't be able to achieve the sort of death toll that we see every year from internal matters.

Obviously, we cannot just consider death tolls for policy making.

Not just death tolls, but they are certainly something that factors into it.

DAESH, in all likelihood, will never attack the US. Its purpose is to create a caliphate. While there is resentment for the US, this does not mean they will prioritize actions against the US over their actual goals.

America's biggest threat is itself.

The government is more concerned with polishing the shoes of big business rather than representing the majority.

The people are too Distracted, Deceived, and Divided to work towards any substantial change.

I do believe there are such things as terrorists, some of which are even Muslim, but I think the reason the US is a target is a result of our meddling in foreign affairs; not our way of life. We should pull back our military, focus on national defense and ridding the country of corruption.

Both, actually. Because ISIS is an internal matter, given the fact that it was created by the CIA.
