Well, no. He probably did exist, but did he do the things that are attributed to him, well that's highly unlikely. The bible as written about Jesus' life is a selection of gospels that the Roman Emperor Constantine wanted to be included as set out by the Nicene council when they wanted to make a Christianity that they could use to develop a church that the Roman empire could endorse, they made their selection from up to fifty gospels some of which have been uncovered including the Gospels of Peter, Judas and Mary Magdelene to name a few, which contravened their new established Hierarchy, especially the gnostic gospels, which after the Nicene council adjourned were decreed heretical and anyone reading them guilty of blasphemy and sentenced to death (very Christian, I know). The fact that so many accounts exist and all of them date to after the death of Jesus mean they can not be used as factual accounts, but are not necessarily metaphorical. Side: No
