Is Lying a Punishable Sin?
A lie. To deceive someone through not telling them the truth about something. Nobody wants to bve lied to and everyone is encouraged out of doing it.
Although I was thinking. Could lying be a punishable sin, in what case and when? Please include all of these in your debates.

Well, it depends on who is punishing the person. If a child is being punished by their parents, then I guess its acceptable, because they are doing it for the child's own good. Do you mind describing the question in a little more detail? I don't really have a firm grasp on what your asking. Thanks!<3 1

In a non religious sense then yes it is. Slander is a punishable crime. For example lying about being raped is perverting the court of justice and you will be punished. I'm not sure about the context as you mentioned the word 'sin' which would suggest a religious topic. Can you clarify? 1

It depends on what you lie about. If it's a white lie to resolve and prevent problems, it's definitely not punishable. If it's a deliberate lie to spoil relationships it deserves a mild punishment. However it is not always possible to see through one's lie so even if there is a law to punish people for lying, many people who lied will still get out of it unscathed. |
