Turkey is currently trying to join the EU, yet they consistently deny people inalienable rights. They block websites and censor television and news. They have a law called the insult law that denies the people the right to insult someone else, in a sense that comes down to individual censorship. Insulting the founder of modern Turkey is a severe offense. While insulting leaders in America is almost encouraged.

It is illegal to speak Kurdish in public. The Turks routinely oppress the Kurdish minority and yet the United States supports them politically and militarily.

NO. NO NO NO NO NO NO NO . NOT AT ALL ,you got it all wrong.. As a Turk myself , Kurds have actually taken advantage of their new freedoms from the Turkish puppet government .

It is not illegal to speak Kurdish, in Turkey , I see it everywhere. THEYRE THE ONES WHO OPPRESS US . THE TURKISH CONGRESS HAS LOADS OF KURDS WHO SHINE PRO-PKK PROPAGANDA , and the President supports them . America supports the Kurdish Terrorists as well ....

But yes, Turkey is an increasingly tolitarian state . Free speech, etc are things of the past. And they say Turkey is a fricking model for the Middle East- my ass .

The Kurds, deface Mustafa Kemal Ataturk and his ideals for Turkey . We all lived peacefully until the late 70s, some asshole named Abdullah Ocalan started this by creating the terrorist organization PKK .... THATS HOW IT STARTED.
