Assuming Jesus was real, there is a likelihood that he could have been an early magician; it's possible he could have used slight of hand to do things that people would have considered miracles. Since our accounts of him are by word of mouth (that we know of anyways), it would be easy to see how people, in such difficult times, would want to believe he had magic.
But a part of me will still always believe that there is magic in the world. Not the commercialized part of it, card tricks, slight of hand, yadda yadda..... but something else.
Yes I believe Jesus existed as in most credible historians do not dispute this , the Jesus most credible historians agree on was just a mere man and a wandering preacher , one would think that there would have been historical accounts of a miracle worker of brilliance but yet nothing , not a word except for the Bible which I would dismiss as a source for evidence of his miracles
It’s also interesting that Miracles seemed pretty regular events in biblical times and yet as educational standards improved and superstition died out they became less and less
I feel like miracles are scientific studies that simply haven't been understood or discovered yet so that's probably why there were so many miracles in the past. Science was magic. A part of me thinks we lose the wonder once we get science into it but even then are are some wonders in science that we have yet to see or still can't explain.
Which witches did the Salem witch hunters find? To my knowledge they accused just about anyone of witchcraft but the larger victims where the midwives who used herbal remedies to help in childbirth. They weren't witches but had passed down knowledge of ancient healing practices.
If I go hunting for raccoons (which I don't but whatever let's pretend I might) and don't find any raccoons, I'm still hunting for freaking raccoons. Just because I don't find any doesn't mean I'm suddenly hunting for trees or something
