THREE FLIGHT ACCIDENTS in less than 1 YEAR HAVE WARNED US THAT AIR-TRAVEL IS NOT AS SAFE AS BEFORE EVEN THOUGH YOU MIGHT SAY CONVENIENT-LATEST:confirmed co-pilot of "GermanWings" responsible for this "ALPS TRAGEDY"

You're so right! Three air accidents in a year is so scary, but I guess maybe other forms of transportation are scarier than it based on your logic. Over 32,000 people died in the US in 2013 from motor vehicle accidents. That vastly overshadows air travel fatalities. So unless you're planning on giving up all means of transport, you should probably consider air travel to still be safe.

We need to appreciate how many thousands of people are flying every minute of every day in hundreds of planes in complete safety, so when one crashes the impact is so much greater for all concerned.

Sometimes events appear in clusters when there is no connection between them or apparent reason. It does not automatically mean that the principle is not safe. Nothing in life is safe but some things are safer than others. Risk management is all around us. We put seat belts on before we drive a car etc etc and so we each have to decide for ourselves what level of risk we will accept

Considering the number of planes in the air at any one time and the number of accidents it is far safer than driving a car. Unfortunately there are so many lives lost each time a large plane crashes and that reciprocally elevates the mental and emotional impact of such events.

Lets wait and see what the outcome of the investigation is before adding it to our safety risk portfolio.

You say it's safer than drivin' a car, mate certainly you won't say you've complete understanding of the pain and anguish which the relatives of the victims endure;you drive a car through Ocean Groove in Australia(Melbourne) you'ld see why I make this statement;I've been there so exactly I know which's safer;investigation would not meet any end and that's why there's no news of MH30 anymore.

The number of deaths attributed to flying compared to driving, world wide, show that flying is much safer than driving a car .

It has been reported online that Researchers at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology calculated that, statistically, you’d have to fly every day for 22,000 years to be involved in a fatal aircraft accident.

Also I mentioned the elevation of the mental and emotional impact which includes within the pain and anguish you mention

So before you criticise you need to think about what you read

No matter how many tragedies occur in the sky, plenty of folks will still agree that air travel is the safest way to travel.
