the first 3 SECONDS when you walk in the room in a job interview will decide if your get the job or not. The taller your are, the skinnier and the more handsome on average get more money once they have the job.

It's not right and it been gettin worse - check out old movies where actors had yellow crooked teeth. Now eveybody on TV has veneers perfectly white and straight. Now only evil charectors on TV have yellow crooked teeth who smoke.

How do you know that it is because they were the only ones to get the job?

What if they were the only people who applied for the job? Answer that.

What if they were miles better actors compared to the others?

Answer both of these questions reasonably and I will agree with you.

I don't know - but I can throw some stats at ya with references.

"higher salaries and other economic benefits enjoyed by a person who is more beautiful than average." -

"

Studies show attractive students get more attention and higher evaluations from their teachers, good-looking patients get more personalized care from their doctors, and handsome criminals receive lighter sentences than less attractive convicts. But how much do looks matter at work?

The ugly truth, according to economics professors Daniel Hamermesh of the University of Texas and Jeff Biddle of Michigan State University, is that plain people earn 5 to 10 percent less than people of average looks, who in turn earn 3 to 8 percent less than those deemed good-looking." -

but if the company choose the person with the appearance, then the company may have some danger that the handsome or pretty people cant do their job well and they are more concerned about their own appearances rather than their work. but maybe the people who is less prettier or handsome, they may try harder to earn the favor of the boss or manager in the company and do their job rather than to concentrate on their appearnace. and this small little difference can change the company's future and economy.

I don't think it's THE most important, but it really does have a heavy pull. I guess that visual simply helps the brain to guard to prepare itself for whatever is coming, so we may THINK on the way of visual first impression.

Even if you all say that appearance is not the most important thing, how many of you really doesn't consider and look at the appearance first before you talk to that person or be friends with the person. i bet more than 97% will see that appearance first, and even for me, i like handsome and pretty people more when i go out, and i will prefer sitting next to a good looking person. and moreover, more than 90% of human beings try to become pretty or handsome, because they know that most of the people look at the appearance first even before they get to know the person. that is why idols are famous, because they are pretty and handsome, and even more, they sing very well. and most of the entertainment companies, they look at your appearance first before they see your singing skill or acting skill, because they have no choice, because those audience and people who watch tv prefer those good looking people instead of not so good looking but sing very well. that is why i think that nowAdays, appearance is very importAnt.

Side: Yes.

The proper appearance makes the person. If a person has a sloppy appearance, he or she will never climb the corporate ladder.

answering to my own question is stupid but i think that although most of the people look at the appearance first before they get to know the person, after a while, even if u look fierce or like a ganster, if ur personality is good, people will start to like u and change their impression of u.

Absolutely not. It makes a lot of difference... Yes. But, at the end of the day the requirement is the brain. Not the looks. And all person can do with the looks is impress. They make the most limited of a difference. It is always going to be up in the brain.

Being who lives inside your body of flesh is the most important thing.

But looks take a second-seat in importance: we all have eyeballs. Lets hope we don't hurt another's eyes to look at us.
