Is banking the most ethical career choice for altruistic individuals?

College graduates who consider themselves truly altruistic individuals would no doubt pursue a career that’s extremely lucrative if their goal is earning to give , surely this makes better sense than the traditional leaning towards a lowly paid job such as charity work

Banking is the least ethical, least altruistic career choice besides perhaps selling white drugs to pregnant women or joining the military.

No shit Sherlock , who’s saying otherwise? Your failure to read and understand a simple question is astonishing

This is you making excuses for capitalism and trying to twist reality so that the greediest, most useless people become the most altruistic people. Then you proceed to pretend as if you have said nothing to support the affirmative position relative to the debate proposition. This is the incredulously stupid antics of a right wing troll.

Your failure at life is far more astonishing.

showing a disinterested and selfless concern for the well-being of others; unselfish.

"it was an entirely altruistic act"

I was unaware that banks were grouped into the above but you internet geniuses are full of misinformation !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If you need to label yourself as "Altruistic", that's a clear sign that you're not, and are a narcisist.

Hello J:

In the USA, you really only have three choices.. You can work for industry, you can work for non profits, or you can work for government..

The business of industry is selling.. To my mind, it doesn't really matter WHAT you sell.. It matters HOW you sell it.. In other words, a cocaine salesman may run his business ethically, whereas, a car dealer and/or a banker might not.. So, if you think selling, in and of itself, is unethical, and many do, then you shouldn't work for an entity that survives by selling its product..

Then we have government.. I don't think working for government is especially ethical.. The whole idea of government is to tell some segment of society what it CAN'T do.. How much fun is that?

Then you have non-profits.. Again, to my way of thinking, whether a non-profit is ethical depends, NOT on the service it sells, but HOW it sells them.. Because you promise NOT to make money doesn't make you any more ethical than selling for profit.. There are church's out there that'll RIP YOU OFF, and there are church's which provide aid and comfort.

So, there you have it.. Hopefully, it'll piss poochy boy off some more...

Small Business by the Numbers

How many small businesses are there in the United States? 28 million. That’s correct: 28 million small businesses in the United States. Not impressed? To put this in perspective, there are 18,500 large companies in the US. That’s 28,000,000 versus 18,500. Small businesses look great from this angle!

Of those 28 million, more than 22 million small businesses in the United States are individually operated, without any employees.

Bankers make their profit by loaning out money and applying interest to the funds. That is why capitalism is a self-contradictory system. Society can only obtain money by agreeing to obtain more money.

There’s nothing about Capitalism that requires an individual to borrow in order to advance. So many people do it because it is so advantageous. But many choose other routes.
