At my school there is a folk club loads of people don't go just because they think it's geeky and i don't see why. Please tell me what you think.

Hey Beth... Right, onto the argument. I believe folk club is MAINLY for geeks... (There should be a neutral position on this thing...) mainly because how many people in folk club are actually popular? Answer.... (Drum roll) No one that I can think of... If I am wrong, do correct me, I'm just saying we REALLY need to do something to folk club to make it a bit cooler... Alternatively, we could just all speak in Middle English, be permanently cedileh dancing, and alienate everyone... So yeah, see ya at school Side: NOPE

Popular? We are popular in a specific group of people, in our own friends. And, actually, at my music school I am never called a geek (Though I do go round with a stuffed toy cow on my head and play sheep bowling). I am just called a geek by a specific group of people by their specific definition of a geek Side: nope

because a) you join a club because you enjoy the activity and make new friends that you wouldn't always mix with b) by making new friends you widen your horizons and have a broader type of life experiences to draw upon later in life c) who really cares if people think they're popular - only those who have nothing better to think about!! Depends on your definition of nerd, Dictionary definition (apparently): 1.a stupid, irritating, ineffectual, or unattractive person. 2. an intelligent but single-minded person obsessed with a nonsocial hobby or pursuit: a computer nerd. Geek is: 1.a computer expert or enthusiast (a term of pride as self-reference, but often considered offensive when used by outsiders.) 2. a peculiar or otherwise dislikable person, especially one who is perceived to be overly intellectual. 3. a carnival performer who performs sensationally morbid or disgusting acts, as biting off the head of a live chicken. So it depends on your definition. My definition is a rather clever person who is intelligent but is interested in school as wellas other subjects. Side: nope
