Is it ethical to engineer wheat and corn plants that can grow in the desert, withstand drought conditions and feed millions that do not have access to these type of crops. The answer is unequicocaally "YES!" We need to keep in mind that genetic engineering is not just cloning creatures in a laboratory to grow body parts on their skin or to bring exticnt species back from the pages of history. It is also about improving upon organisms to benefit the survival and well-being of Human beings and other animals. Drugs designed to eliminate devastating and deadly didseases came from genetic manipulation. I actually find it would be UNETHICAL not to pursue genetic engineering, but in a responsible way!
