Is homework a good idea
no because homework takes time away from your family.homework takes away afterschoo activites. homework will not help you in the future because you will just forget it. some kids are very tired during the ay so want to go to sleep and forgwt all about homework. do alot of work in class.

I would say for most children homework is good because most children don't want to do anything better with their time. For a few children however homework takes a good chunk of their free time that would be better spent on independent reading, studying or hobbies. I mean lets face it most of the stuff you learn in school isn't really that useful. It is general information that is usually memorized for a test and then forgotten. I believe that 5 hours a day is more than enough for this purpose. Mature children should be allowed to use their free time to study something they really like or use their creativity. However they cant because they have to do their homework. If they don't then guess what they wont get good marks and get into University and a robot who did his homework gets a higher paying job than you and is valued more by soceity. Side: No

Most homework only takes about an hour to do. That leaves plenty of time to hang out with family. Here is a simple math problem: 24 hours in a day- 8 hours for sleeping- 1 hour to get ready for school- 1 hour travel time to and from school- 7 hours at school- 2 hours extra-curricular- .5 minutes to eat- 1 hour for homework= 3.5 hours to spend with family...and by eating you are spending time with family, usually. I always find "math problems" like these hilarious. It is wishful thinking. There is no way anyone in this world functions that way cept maybe robots. So apparently children don't spend any time with friends outside of school, don't watch tv or play video games, don't do exercise of any kind, don't talk to people other than family, don't spend any time travelling, thinking, reading, surfing internet. They also pass out instantly to get 8 hours of sleep and don't do any household chores. You didn't even try to set any time aside for inefficiencies in life or unpredictable events. Not to mention rare things that add up like going shopping or appointments. Do I need to go on? Really your calculation is kind of a joke. And anyway from experience homework takes about 1.5 hours to 2 in a serious school. I am not even sure why you responded to me particularly because my argument wasn't that the extra time should be spent solely with family. Side: No
For a few children however homework takes a good chunk of their free time that would be better spent on independent reading, studying or hobbies. those who wish to do so, do find time to do everything they want. all you need is a time planner. It is general information that is usually memorized for a test and then forgotten. that is one reason as to why homework is important. stuff that you learn at school is soon forgotten, and to remember it, homework comes as a solution. the general information is very much important once you leave school and try to find a good job for yourself. I believe that 5 hours a day is more than enough for this purpose. "5 hours"????? no one has to sit for 5 hrs to complete homework as long as you don't watch TV while doing it. if you say its project work that takes 5hrs I may believe you but a project isn't really a homework. Mature children should be allowed to use their free time to study something they really like or use their creativity. However they cant because they have to do their homework. all mature children are not the same. more than half of them would still sleep or study if they aren't given any homework. Side: yes

It helps build on the things that we learned it school that day. I have heard that the more you do something, the more likely you are to remember it. I'm not saying that kids should memorize everything, but they should do homework to help them remember it for longer than a few days. Side: yes
wl it is good wl its said that every coin has two faces sometimes a lot of homework makes me feel like tearing the book apart : ( sometimes each teacher thinks that it is only their subject which is taught in the school so they load us with lot of stuff to do i guess that should be avoided otherwise its good Side: maybeeeeeeeeeee
