Is it bad that Obama took the American flag off his jet and put a symbol of himself?

Obama isn't president yet. I realize that we can't ask him to act 100% like a president, until he gets into office if he is elected. But seeing as how he is a running candidate who is very likely to get elected the position, he should be acting like one and show some patriotism. Lead by example. If our own presidential candidate can't be patriotic, then who can? Who can we go to with enough influence on how the US looks to other countries to lead us in patriotism? Obama needs to realize that he is this new role model for all of America, and he is a symbol along with Bush and McCain of our country and showing such a lack of patriotism is unforgiveable and should not be tolerated. I think that if Obama continues such acts and is elected as president, then we are in some big trouble. We will lose a lot of "street cred" and look bad in front of other countries. Sure it is nice to to display an american flag for it can mean a sign of patriotism but it doesn't guarantee it it. I don't know why everyone is making such a fuss about Obama and american flag pins and anything else with american flags. i believe his actions, his voting records, and his ideas are a better indication of patriotism than if he chooses to wear or display a us flag. i would say that George w bush is not patriotic, even though he wears or displays flag pins, because he has done harm to this country as well as others. and we will not lose "street cred" if Obama is president and chooses not to wear or display a us flag, we might actually gain something since the world might see he isn't full of himself and America. frankly America looks so bad right now, that unless we invade another country it can't look much worse. I do think that he seems ashamed of the country at times. How can he bring the country together if he is ashamed of it? I am disappointed and ashamed in our leaders, but not our country. That being said, I don't have a problem with him not painting the flag on his jet. The flag is to be repected and sometimes trying to seem patriotic crosses the line into tacky. It is bad but not as bad as approving the shooting of wolves from helicopters, or parading your pregnant teen in front of Amercans like Palin has done. She really scares me. I do like the fact that Obama is the ONLy candidate EVER to make a commercial in which he states HIS plans only and doesnt attack the other guy. Side: Hell Yes

I don't think putting a symbol of himself on his jet is the best thing, but taking the american flag off is not wrong. I care for America deeply, but you'll never see me wearing anything with a US flag on it, i don't think we must show our patriotism by always wearing something with a US flag on it. Sure he might become the president and then he will probably be forced to wear an American flag symbol of some sort, but the presence of an American flag doesn't mean you are patriotic or good, just look at who has been ruling America for the last 7+ years, and they were basically draped in it.
