I believe that it is better to be loved for many reasons. One of those reasons is that one's power would not be as threatened if they are loved. For example, there was Adolph Hitler. Hitler was known for many things, for instance his ability to lead a country out of a great depression and his ability to take over more than half of the European world. But perhaps his best ability was to speak to people and rally them all together. But it wasn't just his ability to speak that enabled him to rule this great empire, it was that he was feared. Because of this there were many uprisings and the second world war came about to end his tyranny. Side: Loved

I would say that it is better to be feared because when you are feared is when people respect you more! When people tremble you, in my eyes, they secretly love you. I know many people who i fear in life, but in a way, that makes me want to try harder to be their friend and love them more. When people try to be all "bad a," is when people want to push themselves into liking them more. In this world, people want to be friends with the popular people, and in this case, the people who are feared even more. So when you are feared, in my eyes, is when your loved even more. Side: Feared
I would think you would want to be feared because they can love you but they won't disrespect you. I would want to be respected but at the same time be loved. For respect I would choose fear but just to have that persons love I would choose love. You might think you can be loved and still have respect, sure maybe for a little while and then they get comfortable and they stop. Side: Feared

Welcome to CreateDebate
CreateDebate is a social debate community built around ideas, discussion and democracy. If this is your first time checking out a debate, here are some quick tips to help get you started:
- Arguments with the highest score are displayed first. Argument replies (both in favor and in opposition) are displayed below the original argument. To follow along, you may find it helpful to show and hide the replies displayed below each argument.
- To vote for an argument, use these icons: You have the power to cast exactly one vote (either up or down) for each argument. Once you vote, the icon will become grayed out and the argument's score will change. Yes, you can change your vote.
- Debate scores, side scores and tag scores are automatically calculated by an algorithm that primarily takes argument scores into account. All scores are updated in real-time. To learn more about the CreateDebate scoring system, check out the FAQ.
- When you are ready to voice your opinion, use the Add Argument button to create an argument. If you would like to address an existing argument, use the Support and Dispute link within that argument to create a new reply.
