Is it better to experience pain first before happiness? Or happiness first before pain?
I was thinking about this debate because there are people who want to experience happiness before everything, and yet, they become deoressed when they experience pain. So I was quite curious on what you think should be the first one, and why you chose it.

Let's say I were to experience happiness first. If I knew that pain were to come after, I would have a hard time enjoying my happiness because I would be stressed about the pain to come. If I didn't know that pain was to come after, and then I experienced pain, the pain would be more fresh in my memory and I would remember that more than my happiness. Now lets say I were to experience pain first. If I knew that happiness would come after, bearing the pain would be easier knowing that there was something better coming. If I didn't know happiness was coming, and then I experienced happiness later, the happiness would feel so much better in contrast to the pain (better than the happiness i would experience without pain). Also, the happiness would be more fresh and prevelant in my memory. Side: Pain first

People are driven to be happy. They work and sweat through pain for money...for something that brings them happiness....for something to sustain happiness. I don't think it is important to feel one before the other as long as we can distinguish the two. And distinguishing the two is what's important. I choose "pain first" because in the end, i want to be happy. Downvote me if you have a valid reason because i am ignorant. :) Side: Pain first
