Is it the end of American Exceptionalism?

From BBC comes the worldview of Trump and what he has done so far.  http://www.bbc.com/news/world-us-canada-39133677.  So is it yes, an end to American exceptionalism, or no, he is making America great again?

Worldwide the majority of nations and populations oppose Trump, except for a handful of our traditional opponents. We're becoming isolationist, good old boy conservative, military wielding, fear mongering, press suppressing idiots. Countries don't want to BE us anymore, instead they shudder to worry they'd get dragged down our path. They don't want to deal with us when we want the world out of every deal and we're ready to tear it up to our advantage with no warning. They doubt we'll be their ally, and if we were on our knees it's hard to imagine that anyone, not even our closest geographic neighbors of Mexico and Canada, would come to our aid, especially after we insult them and tear up our agreements with them.

Yes, this is the end of American Exceptionalism. And it was brought to you buy the fools who thought anger and swagger was what used to make us great in the past.

I think it's obvious the U.S. is now way behind and has been in many areas. Capitalism is honestly fucked up at its core. It is a system designed so people can manipulate each other and screw each other over. Not to mention the government where almost everyone is self serving. That's why healthcare isn't free, that's why education isn't free, that's why congress is filled with people voting based on their own biases and self interests. They've all figured out that they can rig the system for their benefit. As far as I'm concerned we were doomed the second we got narcissistic enough to think we could police the world by going to Vietnam. That probably had ulterior motives as well. Then we also just bomb anyone we feel like really. Honestly, I think the U.S. is developing an insanity comparable to the nazis just in less severe proportions.

Well, we certainly have been going downhill since November. Obama can still travel the world and be welcomed like a Rock Star in most countries that , at least, USED to be allies. Trump would likely be welcomed WITH a "Rock"! If King Donald lasts 4 years it will take at least 8 to repair the damage he has done! (More to return from National Bankruptcy)! "White Nationalism" and "Isolationism" isn't accepted in MOST parts of the free world, we shouldn't accept it here either. Putin isn't accepted in the free world either (he doesn't WANT to be) HE shouldn't be accepted here EITHER!

I can think of a "Banner" we should hang from a pole to celebrate America being great again!

I question how you interpret American Exceptionalism. I would say this is not the end simply because I don't see the US as being exceptional in many positive ways and you can't end what doesn't exist.

Exceptionalism is when other nations or their people look at what we say or do or stand for and say wow, we'd like to be like that. Whether it's our Constitutional rights, our free speech and free press, a vibrant and adaptive economy, or the might to stand up for what's right.

Much of that may be a myth, but indeed there are people around the world who believe that myth anyway and want to be part of it. Alas, there are now fewer people who would say that since January.

Agreed, that is what I think of as well when people refer to American Exceptionalism, but that sadly hasn't been the truth in quite some time

but indeed there are people around the world who believe that myth anyway and want to be part of it

Compared to some countries, sure I suppose we could be considered exceptional, but again - only by comparison. It's the thought of "the grass is always greener on the other side," but of course we know that isn't always true.

Alas, there are now fewer people who would say that since January.

I'm not so sure about that. Sure there are certainly people who despise Trump and see this as the end of the world (their hyperbole, not mine), but there are also many who finally see hope now that Obama is gone.

"Worldwide the majority of nations and populations oppose Trump, except for a handful of our traditional opponents."

When did a worldwide majority of nations and populations elect a President ?

What you are saying Progressive is that you oppose the vote of the People of The United States and that continued mindset will continually be the defeat of your Progressive Party!

I gave a source, from outside of the USA, in the debate heading up top. All you did, like all you ever do, is cop an attitude - kind of like those ridiculous car stickers that show a Chevy logo peeing on a Ford logo.
