Is it worrisome that the KKK has gotten increased media coverage

Is the KKK making a comeback?

Well. It's not surprising as one of the points against Trump was that the KKK endorsed him, according to some news sources. I think it's just a continued smear campaign, and true or not, it's done to discredit our next President....God I hate calling him that but that's just how it is. The worrisome part is that it's still being used to divide our country. A good portion of the nation just can't tolerate the KKK and people who are as bigoted and close minded as those in groups such as that. It's not the majority but it's treated as such, if that makes sense. The media does a fantastic job of dividing this country and providing misinformation to those who believe in it like it was a bible. (This is not a dig at religion, it's simply a dig at people who never question what they are told)

The KKK did endorse Trump, but his campaign also rejected the endorsement. People tend to neglect the latter fact, though it was also covered by the mainstream media. The media are also drive primarily by their profit margin (they can't exactly neglect it), and controversy and division sell whereas people just aren't interested in balanced and relevant news. This is why the media gave so much coverage to Trump throughout the campaign season and his success was bolstered substantially by that coverage, so I'm not especially persuaded that the media is out to get him. He uses them and they use him; its a symbiotic relationship, really. And the people get what they asked for in their actions.

P.S. Of course that it is a dig at religion. It doesn't make sense otherwise.

Actually it's really not. There are plenty of people who believe anything the news says without finding out for sure about the accuracy, believing in God is not a prerequisite.

There is one reason and one reason alone why we ever even hear about the KKK.

Democrats constantly race bate for votes!

Democrats are now crucifying a Trump appointee because of a KKK joke he made 30 years ago.

I guess the Democrat Party has not learned anything from the election. They keep showing how divisive and extreme they are.

More cop assasinations every week because of Democrat race bating everytime a Cop shoots a Black man.

Our nation has become divided after 8 years of Obama and these Progresive Democrats.

The voters said we had enough divisiveness. I bet the Democrats pick Nancy Pelosi once more for minority leader.

They never care what the people tell them. They are Liberal extremists and why they lost the election.

Uhm... okay but this has absolutely nothing to do with the question in debating.

Do you think it is worrisome that the KKK has gotten this increased attention from the media? Do you think this is their comeback?

I answered your question. I doubt the KKK is coming back. They are getting constant press from Progressives in our media and in the Democrat party, for purposes of hurting Republicans.

I will say this, if Progressives keep race bating, there may be an upsurge from people who are sick of what is happening. Whether that be the KKK or some other fed up group, I don't know.

He doesn't believe that the KKK is in the news for anything other than the joke made by the Trump appointee. He lives in his own bubble.

Fact: The Republican Party was founded primarily to oppose slavery, and Republicans eventually abolished slavery. The Democratic Party fought them and tried to maintain and expand slavery. The 13th Amendment, abolishing slavery, passed in 1865 with 100% Republican support but only 23% Democrat support in congress.

Fact: During the Civil War era, the "Radical Republicans" were given that name because they wanted to not only end slavery but also to endow the freed slaves with full citizenship, equality, and rights.

Fact: The 14th Amendment, giving full citizenship to freed slaves, passed in 1868 with 94% Republican support and 0% Democrat support in congress. The 15th Amendment, giving freed slaves the right to vote, passed in 1870 with 100% Republican support and 0% Democrat support in congress.

Fact: The Ku Klux Klan was originally and primarily an arm of the Southern Democratic Party. Its mission was to terrorize freed slaves and "nier-loving" (their words) Republicans who sympathized with them.

Democrats own the KKK yet you as a Progressive buy into the fear mongering spoon fed to you. Get a history lesson and you will be more knowledgeable.

I thought they lost the election because they were rigged? Thats what Trumpy pants kept saying.

Side: It's worrisome

It's the liberal media that is ramping up this story to tarnish the right and to scare minorities away from them, that's all. Trump is not responsible for who endorsed him, just like Hillary isn't responsible for the Imperial Grand Dragon in California who endorsed her.

I'm totally against what the KKK stands for. However, in a society with freedom of speech and of the press they're entitled to say their piece and then it's up to the media to what extent they cover it.

What is more worrisome is that so much racism and hate could lurk below the radar for so long and just now bubble out. This in fact is why I'm always saying it's better to get extremism out in the open and confront it than it is to censor or ban it and pretend it doesn't exist.

Anybody who has lived in the Deep South for any length of time will tell you that the KKK never really went away. They just sort of kept things on the down low for awhile.

They are still active, and they are gonna get MORE active over the next four years. This, coupled with increased Trump protestations and also civil disobedience among blacks and the poor, that is, those whom Trump's policies will further marginalize if not outright torment, are the primary ingredients for the coming Civil War.

I know that prediction of a Civil War sounds hyperbolic, but wait and see. I have never been one for the "doom and gloom" conspiracy theories or "end of the USA" stuff, but this time I REALLY think we screwed the proverbial pooch by allowing somebody as laughably and absurdly unqualified and reckless as Trumpy in the White House.

It's basically time to pay the piper, amigos.

Mark this: within 9 months you will hear of serial attacks on blacks in the South by KKKers.

Since the dipshit DB Stoopid got banned for, well, being a dipshit, I unfortunately cannot bust up his post to me like I usually do. But his post made me laugh since it was pasted obviously, and he really knows very very little about political history.

All of those clips showing that the Dems supported racism in the South and the KKK and lynchings and all that?

Guess he doesn't know that the South was almost totally Democrat until LBJ's Great Society civil rights legislation in the 1960s. Which de-segregated many schools and began to give the Blacks a little bit of rights and equality.

So when all that was passed by Congress, the Dems LOST the South, which they had held since the Civil War.

This was 50 fucking years ago!!! When the Dems lost the South! The party has totally reversed itself and its positions on civil rights since then.

Wow.

How can anybody be so ignorant of US History, and have the balls to post their shit on a debate site. DB Stooper (outlaw) should be ashamed of himself. He needs to go back to school.

Maybe get passed the 7th grade this time?
