Hey guys :)

Yes

In my opion marriage is necessary because when you have a wife and kids and they grow up to be adults while my wife and I are old the kids need to take care of there parents because you never know cancer or something might happen to you and if you have no one to help you to the hospital or anyone the your in trouble. So I think marriage is useful.

so, someone won't help you if they don't marry you, people can love and not marry, some people out there don't think marriage is necessary to be in love. I do think its a great tradition, and a good idea, not necessary either.

Even though I don't believe a couple of legally binding documents should keep two people together, it is necessary for families. If there wasn't any kind of marriage, parents with kids could go out and parent a bunch of other children on the side, then leave their children, whenever they want to. Also, legal custody of their children comes to mind, as well. Family instability would become vastly more common, if there was no marriage. I would also believe crime rates would increase, due to the increased amount of parent-less children.

If we were to get rid of marriage..., then we wouldn't be able to argue about gay marriage on CD ;)

Marriage is over rated in my opinion.

Is it necessary? Well it depends on what for. If you’re talking about the benefits involved, and there is quite a lot http://www.nolo.com/legal-encyclopedia/marriage-rights-benefits-30190.html, then yes marriage is necessary considering the way the system currently works.

One should then consider if the benefits are actually necessary.

As for whether or not marriage Is necessary for two people to be together, or to declare their love. I would say no, not at all. A commitment can be made regardless of there being a marriage to declare it. Not only that but judging by the amount of divorcees, marriage is pretty insubstantial for enforcing a commitment. I would consider the amount of love between two people a better determining factor as to how committed they are, a marriage is just a piece of paper aside from the legal benefits it brings with it, which shouldn't even exist in my opinion.

It's not necessary for every single human on Earth. However it is something that is still relevant to society if couples still wish to be married. In terms of legality, there are a lot of protections, rights and benefits from a marriage. In terms society, the marriage is the public declaration and celebration of committing your lives together. That will always be relevant so long as couples are relevant.

But again, it's not necessary or required for each human on Earth.

If two want to get married with the eyes of their church, then yes. Otherwise, there is no need. Marriage has only been recognized a private issue until government hijacked it.

It became a government issue a long time ago, before "marriage" was the word even used. So in the eyes of history and semantics, "marriage" was always a government event as well as personal event.

Not in todays day and age. it is an ancient precept from the days of dowries etc. Also a true marriage is done for religious reasons and with "God's" permission. Today with the high divorce rate, people getting married in vegas and on jerry Springer is marriage really the big deal it used to be. It is symbolic and usually now just a cause for a woman to get her dream wedding!

Side: No

There are plenty of single people who are happy with their lives and never want to get married.
