Guitar Hero is awesome. I play it purely for entertainment purposes and have no misperceptions that I am becoming a better musician by learning to play a silly rendition of "Through the Fire and Flames" on Expert. Although I'd be lying if I said I didn't wish that I was as nasty as this guy below. This is ridiculous

I'm with you on that one. I do play the guitar - just campfire style, I can accompany a song with chords. But practicing is demanding. Guitar Hero is something totally different. It is just for fun, nothing artistic about it. The only thing it trains might be your rhythmic abilities. I love both :) Side: No, it's a lot of fun!
it is NOT a waste of time. singling out one game as a waste of time is only giving right to say that every game out there is a waste of time. if it's something you like to do, and it's something that keeps you amused, then do it. it does keep you away from being productive though...it's still not a waste of time though. I don't personally like Guitar Hero, but I do play Rock Band 2 sometimes with my husband. I wouldn't say it's a "waste" of time because if I'm playing it, I have nothing else in mind to do. And, it may not be a real guitar, but it's the closest I've ever been to playing an instrument at all. haha. It makes me feel talented for an hour. :-) Side: No, it's a lot of fun!
Guitar hero is a lot of fun, its a video game its meant to entertain people by letting them use their imagination. Most people can't play through the fire and flames, hell most people can't play time of your life by Green Day. Learning to play a real guitar costs a lot of money for A) the guitar and B) for the hours and hours of practice and lessons. Then? Well not much considering you normally don't tote around a guitar on your back to play for your friends. With guitar hero you can connect with other people around the world, and play your heart out in a virtual world where you can actually do something interesting with the possibility of recognition from other nerds =] Side: No, it's a lot of fun!

Probably because one is a fun video game, and the other is a real life skill that requires practise and hard work? Why play Call of Duty when you can join the army and shoot real people? Why play Gran Turismo when you can buy a car and enter real races? Why play Tekken when you could join a dojo and learn an actual martial art? Pfft. Side: it's a game

Bill Hicks only applies to a certain group of people.(mainly the angry left) He is not for everyone, so how can he be the best of all time? All of his material is one sided, predictable, and mean. He seems to be very bitter. He's not really a comedian he just roasts people that he doesn't like, which(don't get me wrong) can be very funny. But in this case, no. Side: Yes, learn to play for real.
