If the question is, "what is the term for when one takes ones own life?" then yes, suicide is the answer.

:p

Sure.

Questions: "What is that thing called where you kill yourself"

Answer: "Suicide"

There. It's an answer.

I think it can be. Because everyone experiences things differently, and all though we someone trying to handle something that we went through, doesn't mean they're actually able to make it through. And it's not fair to live miserably.

If you want to kill yourself, it takes work to live. They try harder to live than anyone else.

I so agree with you. You know why .

Side: Yes

For the same reasons that death generally should ever be "the answer."

Side: yes

Suicide can and will always be a plausible answer to certain situations. Just because it is morally or religiously wrong does not mean that it is and has never been an answer. The real question, however, is if it is ever a good choice to make in certain situations.

Is the question "What is the term for self neutralization?"

Side: yes

Lol... insert "What is it called when someone takes their own life" joke here...

Side: Yes

Depends on the question(situation)

Yes to:

X is a serial killer/psyhopath who wants to end their cycle of suffering and killing

X faces an inevitable painful death in the near future

X is in an extremely unfavourable situation that will not improve (i.e. stroke victim/prisoner)

And there's probably more.

Side: Yes

I don't think it is ever the answer. I think its an incredibly selfish egocentric act that is the easiest way to deal with hard things in life. It only hurts the other people around, if anything causing them to consider suicide as well.

You said it is never an answer, and yet you later state that it is "the easiest way to deal with hard things in life." An answer deals with or solves a problem. In a majority of cases, yes, it harms other people severely, but it doesn't mean that suicide is never the answer. It just means that it is a very horrible choice to make.

i dnt think it is...i mean look at the way human's determination led us to (dnt take chaos and destruction as the subject) anyway jst like calamities happen to us to a point where we want to kill ourselves, we must remember that giving up is not always the answer. sometimes when a person is thinking of how his life sucks or the hard time he is going through, he also has to think of the good things that are going in his life as well...giving up is not the answer! if u tried but failed...then try again and again until u cant try anymore! think of all the things worth living for! think of how sad the people who love u might feel if u kill urself...now if ur suffering from a serious illness or an incurable disease then thtsa dfrnt thng XD

But the question is, "Is suicide ever the answer?" You are saying that suicide isn't always an answer, but when someone asks is it ever an answer, and it is a possible answer to a problem at least once, then the answer to "Is it ever an answer?" is yes. You can argue that it is never a good answer to a problem, but just because it is immoral or simply not a good thing to do, that doesn't mean that it isn't an answer.

mmm thts a gd point u stated, but i never said it was immoral...i stayed away from referring to it as immoral and not the right thing to do...cz if i did then that would not be sufficient to answer the question, and it would not do my argument any good. which is why i stated that it is not always the answer. some people think suicide is the answer, others dont. some people give up easily, others fight to get over it. but in my opinion it is not an answer in most cases.

Side: No

Basically, no matter how bad life can get... It could still get better! So just to call it quits when it gets tough, is giving up in poker before you even see your hand.

Giving up before you have your hand? Really?

Do you imagine every human is like 10 years old or something?

What if they are like 80, have a month to live anyway, and are in unbearable pain?

You need to consider different scenarious, not just your own apparently rosey tunel vision.

Side: yes

Point taken.

"Do you imagine every human is like 10 years old or something?"

Nope. I was mainly speaking out against people committing suicide from ages 10-30.

"What if they are like 80, have a month to live anyway, and are in unbearable pain?"

They could just refuse medical treatment, which would kill them all the same.

"You need to consider different scenarios, not just your own apparently rosey tunnel vision."

So looking beyond present circumstance towards a future that is a realistic goal is tunnel vision? Sure

Suicide should never be an answer. If you are to suicide, think about the people around you. Do you know how many people are going to cry over you? There are people who would actually ask themselves every night, "What did I do wrong?" It'll haunt them. If you feel depressed or anything, go to a psychologist and talk out your problems. No money? Then call the suicidal hotline and they'll show you the proper steps to take care of yourself. You'll never know what will happen in the future. Life will get better, so live positively.

Suicide is NEVER the answer. Who would want to kill themselves because life sucks and stuff like that? When someone kills themselves that tells me they are not sucessful in life and they are not good people who can handle things like bullies or depression or they think they don't want to be here on this earth. When you die from suicide do you know what happens you don't go to heaven you go to hell because one of the Ten Commandments is thou shall not kill and your killing yourself and you can't say your sorry for commiting suicide because you are already dead.

Not true. Suicide is a possible answer. The definition of an answer is "a thing said, written, or done to deal with or as a reaction to a question, statement, or situation." Just reminding you in case you forgot. Suicide can be an answer. If you are being bullied, then you could commit suicide to deal with the situation.

It most definitely is an answer to certain problems/situations, but the real question is that it is not a good answer to those problems, which is what you basically stated if you exclude the first and last sentence.

Side: yes
1 point

I think that it is not the answer to anyone's problems. It is just simply ending the problem without wanting to solve it. Certainly everyone has difficulties but that's what life is all about, overcoming them. And when you can straighten out your problems, you can appreciate life more and you'll be able to enjoy it.

On the other hand suicide is not completely a selfish act. sure, you are leaving loved ones and people in your life, but it is a personal decision whether to end your life and to be in a "better place".

You won't know what life has to offer, but if you end yours shorter than it has to be, you'll never find out.

What if one has 1 month to live and every second is excruciating pain that no pain killer can suppress, they are old and have already lived their life.

You would damn them, this once proud person, to a month of endless torment ending only when they finally in raging wracking pain shit themself and expire an embarrassed and drained shell of a human being?

Shit. You're a hateful and evil person.

Side: yes

If you think about it, why would there be a reason to kill yourself. No one brought you into this world for you to take yourself out of it. If you have thoughts of suicide then your not trying hard enough to get away. Your personal best isnt enough, you can to better than that!

Side: No

Suicide should never be the answer. Every problems has a solution even when you're really hopeless, but don't ever give up because life can still surprise us and things can always turn around. Think about the people who loves you, life is not all about being successful, when you fail you have to learn how to stand up and try harder to complete your goals, there's no right or wrong. Just don't give up and accept who you are.

No, because when you suicide what will you get answer? You can think more to find answer or fix some problem by time.
