this answer depends where you live. i live just across the bay from s.f. and their are several community colleges CSU's and UC's all within the bay or at-least a couple hours drive of the bay ex if your want to go to sac, uc Davis, Chico, etc and their is also private colleges also.... st Marys, Stanford and so on. As far as state run colleges like the one i attend, they are all non profit organizations that must not charge to high a fair in exchange for their services, also they are subsidized by the state so its much cheaper than if they were a non profit without subsidies. at least where i live you can go to a university for about less than ten grand a year with books and tuition or you can go to a U.C. IE Berkley or Davis and pay around 15. not to mention you can go to community college like i did where i received my A.S. before transfered. community colleges in CA charge 26$ dollars a unit. and with books and fees i finished my first 2 years of college on about 4 grand budged. so pretty much lets say.............. 30 grand for a college education????????????? not bad considering graduates make on avg 1 million more in a career along with the fact of FASFA............Ca competitive Grant......etna.............scholarship the other thing is when people complain...... you dont have to go to college. its still a choice. if you feel the service is not fair, do not purchase the product.
