Is there a logical reason to support abortion?

Pleas note that not all abortions are done to save the mothers life in fact study's show that last year only 7% of abortions were performed for "medical reasons" and I use that term loosely. Most of the abortions last year were so called "life syle abortions" meaning they where done on women who were at no medical risk and had the nessisary means to support and raise a child but got an abortion because of reasons like they didn't want a child, it would effect there relationships, it would interfer with their business ect. If this barbaric practice must happen then I say we require that the abortions be ordered by licensed MDs and only if the mother is in absolute risk like this is the only thing that will save her and if we don't do it there is a 100% chance she will die.

First let me say I don't support abortion

I support choice.

If I supported abortion, then my intentions were to kill all fetuses - that is not what I want.

I don't see a reason to not support the choice to kill a fetus, as much as I don't see the reason not support the choice to kill a fly.

I don't think that the only thing you should be qualified for to be able to become a parent is your ability to reproduce.

To be a parent is much, much more than just reproducing, and I think it is weird that pro-lifers don't see that.

When the sperm meets the egg, you become pregnant - you don't become a parent before you agree on becoming a parent.

And there is a last thing .. I mean, I'm not gonna use this as an argument to support abortion, but I'm gonna say it anyway ..

We are now 8 billion people on this earth, and we can barely feed ourselves.

100 years ago, we were only 2 billion people.

That means, if I calculated correctly, that we will be way over 20 billions in 2100.

Personally, I think it would be a wise choice to .. slow down the reproduction, if we wanna keep living on this planet.

The world population is 7,076,626,183.

Okey, I thought it has raised to 8 billion, I heard that from somebody.

But it will still be over 20 billion in 2100, if we continue reproducing like this, won't it?

No one is really a fan of abortion, but what's the alternative? Force babies to be born into families that don't want them? In the future, everyone will be sterilized at birth, and they'll just reverse that when needed. But for now, abortion is regrettably necessary.

Okay if overpopulation is your main concern you should know there are currently plans to terraform and colonize (not nessisarally in that order) mars.

And there are already competing bids from privet contractor companies like Space-x to develop the rockets that will get us there (Space-x already has two prototypes) and colonization equipment space-x has a testing ground in California for the housing modulars and such and are currently testing prototypes.

So don't worry we may be running out of room on this planet but we will have an entire new one soon.

Also Saturn's moons Europa and Titan are being considered for colonization next following the success of the mars colonization.

Isn't it easier to just not have the unwanted babies in the first place, than to send them off to another planet?

they haven't even been able to get humans to mars yet who knows how long it will take to get human to the moons of Saturn. the ides that we might be able to colonize another planet by the end of this century is ridiculous.overpopulation is a big problem.in science we have learned that after a rise in population in population in a ecosystem if it go over the carrying capacity there will always be a huge drop because of competition in the species.i suspect the same thing will happen with us.when we don't have enough resources to support everyone.and also if we ever were able to get human to mars to stay it would only the very richest definitely not the average person which would not solve the overpopulation problem.and most people would not be willing to live on another planet we belong here on earth .i know i would feel homesick if i didn't see that beautiful blue sky every day

Rape, human stupidity, child welfare, overpopulation, struggling mothers who wouldn't be able to deal with another child...

As somebody who is pro-life I do however agree that there are good reasons to be pro-choice In fact I believe abortion should be allowed if it is harmless which I consider to be in the first 12 weeks or if it becomes a necessary decision (life of the mother etc). What I am against is abortion being done when the fetus is completely viable and the woman is doing so simply because she does not want a child.
