After my own observation I can say there is a wage gap: not because women are payed less because they are women but because they work jobs they like even if they dont pay much (women do mostly "social" work: history, litterature, languages etc) while often men dont consider if they like the job or not, they just look at the salary Side: There is a wage gap
Is there a wage gap? Let’s debate. Assuming the debate creator is referring to the famous/infamous 'gender wage gap'--then, yes, there is a 'gender wage gap'; although it has very little to do with 'systemic gender-based oppression'. Moreover, even where gender is the relevant variable, it goes in both directions of prejudice toward men/women (depending on the position/field) rather than uni-directionally against women, as is often asserted Side: There is a wage gap
There is always a wage gap. And it doesn't even have to be a men vs women issue. The people who make less will almost always have a beef with individuals and groups who make more, and usually hey have a good argument about it. Which means this dynamic never completely goes away. You don't fix a wage gap once and forget about it, it's and on-going tug and war forever. But that also means you don't just dismiss this issue as irrelevant. It is almost always relevant. You must understand that that's what women do best, complain. They've realised that they can, and indeed are already well down the road, of altering the traditional gender roles to suit their shortcomings. Consider this one instance, you're a male police officer on patrol with a colleague when you encounter a couple of burly, cop hating thugs who are hell bent on getting stuck in and are not going to be cajoled under any circumstances. Which gender would you prefer your colleague to be? Side: There is a wage gap
