Is there anyone here who has been an atheist all their life?

It just seems that whenver I look at religious debates, the majority of atheists I've seen will say that they used to be religious, but turned away from it. Which makes me wonder is there anyone here who has been an atheist all their life?

I have been, despite going to a Christian school and being raised by a fundamentalist Aunt. I hope I'm not forever alone...

I was raised without god, without religion, and without any knowledge of "the divine" i never ever paid attention in church when i rarely went, i never believed in god until i started questioning what could be out there, and had experiences with my own eyes to things that are just extremely bizarre.

Did you know that when columbus was coming to america, the native americans could literally, LITERALLY not see the ships? Do you know why? Im gonna tell you anyways...

It was because they didnt THINK they existed, they didnt BELIEVE they existed. So the shaman noticed ripples in the water, but did not know what was causing them, so he studied the horizon for a very long time, until he saw the ships. And he told everyone else and they believed him because he was the leader, they confided in him, trusted him.

Im not saying that BELIEVING the earth is 6000 years old makes it true, no, what i am saying is that believing something CAN make it true. Ive said this before and people jumped down my throat, but i said it CAN make it true, it doesnt mean it DOES make it true.

All myths have a half truth to them.

So what im getting at is if you dont believe in the slightest at all, you will never see what can be so plainly obvious.

Just have some faith, believe that there COULD be an entirely different reality to the universe and maybe the pieces will fall together, because any great mind should know you need a mixture of both science and spirituality to see reality for what it truly is.

If you mean taking no religious shit as reality then I'm one like that. Never have, never will.

I never believed in any major religion... I called myself agnostic most of my life but finally just said 'fuck it' one day.... it wasn't really a matter of me not knowing for sure... I simply didn't believe in any of that shit.
