CreateDebate is a social debate community built around ideas, discussion and democracy.
If this is your first time checking out a debate, here are some quick tips to help get you started:
Arguments with the highest score are displayed first.
Argument replies (both in favor and in opposition) are displayed below the original argument.
To follow along, you may find it helpful to show and hide the replies displayed below each argument.
To vote for an argument, use these icons:
You have the power to cast exactly one vote (either up or down) for each argument.
Once you vote, the icon will become grayed out and the argument's score will change.
Yes, you can change your vote.
Debate scores, side scores and tag scores are automatically calculated by an algorithm that primarily takes argument scores into account.
All scores are updated in real-time.
To learn more about the CreateDebate scoring system, check out the FAQ.
When you are ready to voice your opinion, use the Add Argument button to create an argument.
If you would like to address an existing argument, use the Support and Dispute link within that argument to create a new reply.
If our technology advanced to a level as to upload our minds then in a sense there could be a "after life". But it would still be you, only in a different body and you could exist for hundreds and even thousands of years (assuming someone won't delete you...).
I could just as well say there is Heaven, Hell and Dolute, the neutral zone.
There is also Yulope, the anti-neutral zone, Nipole, the Ultrazone for those who are Above, Quepor, the Land of Enchantment, and the 7 layers of Hell.
Do those places exist? Even if I wrote a long book describing how you get to each of them, what they are like, where they are, how many people they fit, the weather and climate of each, it doesn't make it real.
You need to show me that what you are saying is real.
See what did I tell you! You guys are such idiots. I am just going to have to put up with it. I hope someday I get my effiency up. Like thats ever going to happen
Forget everything you know and debate a Christian.
I've done the opposite many times in order to better myself.
I've debated for Christianity, for Buddhism, for Hinduism, for Viking myths, Greek myths.
I think culture and religion is fascinating and debating it and fighting it's points lets you learn more about it.
I think if you debated just once or twice as an atheist, you could really open your mind and learn a lot about yourself and your religion and faith.
Don't take this half heartedly though. Don't make weak arguments because you want to be right. If you're biased from the beginning, you'll never learn new things, so you need to have an open mind.
I don't think arguing as an atheist will make you into an atheist. That would be going too far, but I think you could learn something from that.
Try it and see? Experimenting in the past has always lead to new information and good results.
Try arguing as an atheist? LOL PLEASE you have it SOOOOO easy, im spiritual, and i have proofs to back my claims, its called transcedental meditation "oh its just a chemical reaction in the brain" ya well when everyone reports of the same experiences in different states of conciousness, something is linking them, oh wait could this be the spirit world? :O and our bodies are matter, which is energy vibrating at a low level, energy doesnt die, when we die, our energy will carry on, so yes, there is much more to life than this, and to get back to my reply to you, i have tried arguing as an atheist, whenever i try to think of the world coming about naturally, i feel a hole in my heart, but when i think about god that hole gets filled with a special feeling, and arguing as an atheist is easy cuz you have "logic" to back you up, well im sorry but god+logic=0, you get nothing out of it, logic helps us here in the material world, but the material world is so boring and non fulfilling, its a distraction really.
I hope someday I get my effiency up. Like thats ever going to happen
So true, it will never happen. You want to know why? Because a religious person can never really win in a religion debate, because religions are all man-made, they are all flawed, false, based on delusions, and just wrong.
What happened to you leaving this site anyway? Weren't you supposed to do that? And as I have read, more than once?
Well someone down-voted me. I am getting really ticked now that people often down-vote me whenever I say something . All the atheists get like 5-6 up-votes and that never happens to me unless I log on suddenly and I get 7 up votes
I've noticed you often argue from belief, or faith, which isn't a very good point.
You need to explain why you have belief and faith. If you can't do that in a way others can understand, you need to either develop ways to explain, or stop trying to explain.
Stop being so narcissistic. It's not all about you. And by the way, if you haven't noticed, your words are written, not spoken. Furthermore, every time any of us have to dispute any of your "arguments", they appear on the right side of the page and we, being logical people, take the time to read every single bullshit you have written.
-_- Go back where you came from and never return. I enjoyed you not being here.
Guess what I didn't miss you because I loved it when you were gone and that you weren't replying to any of my arguments. So can you continue to get away from here because I would love it if you would continue to be away for months and months.
Yes, and you fail to justify it.
I do justify it. But stupid atheists who think they are higher then Christians know everything and come up with lame excuses saying that it isn't true.

Shut the hell up! Like I need your advice. It would be best if you would leave! I enjoyed you not being here.
Well I dislike him and that is why I said shut the hell up. I don't care about you swearing anymore. Its your choice not mine. I am not going to bother you about that anymore.

You don't need to worry about that. I will be away again soon. BUT, that will mean that I will be delivering much heavier blows to make up for my absence.
I do justify it.
Really? Justify or make feeble excuses?
But stupid atheists who think they are higher then Christians know everything and come up with lame excuses saying that it isn't true.
By calling atheists stupid, aren't you equally as guilty of making up lame excuses to make it seem as if Christians have the moral and intellectual high ground when they clearly don't?

Here's a bit of advice: stop being so vitriolic and narcissistic and use a little more brains instead.
I might leave this site anyway to get smarter and learn about creation vs. Evolution and study really hard and get really smart. I have been thinking about it for the past couple of days because this debate site is really confusing sometimes with all the evolution crap, science, and all sorts of baseless claims including you coming back which I hope you leave soon.
Here's a bit of advice: stop being so vitriolic and narcissistic and use a little more brains instead.
Here is a little advice: Shut up and mind your own business and worry about yourself and not other people. And stop telling me what to do.
Nothing is more beautiful than knowledge. Why? Why are we debating this?
Please tell me why you think there is a debate between religion and atheism.
I would love it if you would explain with a LOT of detail why someone becomes atheist.
Why don't atheists believe things because of faith?
Please answer that for me, I want to learn more about why there is a fight.
The universe is beautiful, isn't it? Why can't we get along as humans?
Please answer my questions honestly. Lying or being defensive for no reason helps no one.
Clinging to a false belief is damaging. If atheism is wrong, and you have a powerful reason as to why it is, then tell me, but first, you need to understand atheism and why people become atheist. That is extremely important.
I was once Christian, I wanted to be a priest. I wanted to help everyone get into heaven, I wanted to be a good person, and most of all, I wanted the truth.
Now I'm an atheist scientist. How does that happen?
Please explain why people become atheist as best as you can.
I don't have time to debate with you or answer your questions. . I am really depressed right now. If everyone would leave me alone especially you it would be fine but right now I don't have the time. I am sorry. :(
Well, that's news to me. Looking at the way you write, you evidently have no clue as to what it means to debate.
I do. Its just that I use words that I use in everyday life on a debate site. Do you use high vocabulary words when your out in the real world? I am assuming no you don't.
I'd bet there are a few people who will disagree with you.
I bet there are a huge amount of people who agree with me.
Upon death, your ghost/soul is released from your material body in order to be judged according to your faith and deeds and then sentenced to either Heaven, Purgatory, or Hell. Most people get sent to Purgatory. It's an age-old system that has yet to change for nearly 6,000 years.
Unfortunately, this whole argument is a matter of personal belief and opinion. If you are religious, yes you will move on to an afterlife. If not, you won't. But this is a matter of opinion.
As far as we can tell, there is a possibility of our energy (our soul if you will) can in some instances escape the body and survive after words, although this process is sure to damage the energy, and what is left is but a husk. Since what we are is electrical energy, one day in the future we should be able to preserve ourselves in machines.
Yes, research out of body experiences, our body is just a vehicle, even the bible mentions the silver cord, and im not religious so that is some good proof that yes, there is more, is it heaven and hell? i think physical reality IS hell
If by after life, you mean a conscious experience that you would feel after your brain and heart stop working, if you think that ten minutes after your death, you will still feel something, or think or experience, then no.
There is nothing. My body will exist, it will decay and become one with nature.
I will return to the earth, and that is that. The most powerful computer I've ever used or had control over would be broken, permanently. It's calculations and ideas and creativity will live on, through others, but I will be dead.
The only thing after life is death. There is no heaven or hell, or any kind of spirit released upon the world. You as a person will simply cease to exist.
