Is this sacrilegious?

Sacrilege

A Good Catholic Story ...

Little Johnny got on the bus, sat next to a man reading a book, and noticed he had his collar on backwards.

Little Johnny asked why he wore his collar backwards... The man, who was a priest, said "I am a Father."

Little Johnny replied "My Dad doesn't wear his collar like that." The priest looked up from his book and answered "I am the Father of many."

Little Johnny said "My Dad has 4 boys, 4 girls and two grandchildren and he doesn't wear his collar that way." The priest, getting impatient, said "I am the Father of hundreds" and went back to reading his book.

Little Johnny sat quietly thinking for a while, then leaned over and said, "Maybe you should use a condom and wear your pants backwards instead of your collar."

-Amen

No more than this one!

Try reading it with an Irish brogue;

Muldoon lived alone in the Irish countryside with only a pet dog for company. One day the dog died, and Muldoon went to the parish priest and asked, "Father, me dog is dead. Could ya' be saying' a mass for the poor creature?"

Father Patrick replied, "I'm afraid not; we cannot have services for an animal in the church. But there are some Baptists down the lane, and there's no tellin' what they believe! Maybe they'll do something for the creature."

Muldoon said, "I'll go right away Father. Do ya' think $5,000 is enough to donate to them for the service?"

Father Patrick exclaimed, "Sweet Mary, Mother of Jesus! Why didn't ya tell me the dog was Catholic?

Nothing is scared anymore. Who ever wrote that should be excommunicated!

Actually, that's pretty funny ;)

I work with priests for a living and I find that hilarious! It's not sacreligious at all.

sacrilegious - Grossly irreverent toward what is or is held to be sacred.

Like the Bible or a crucifix. Telling a priest to wear a condom would just be kind of rude. Unless the priests penis is considered sacred, and putting plastic on it is considered irreverent.

The priest actually using the condom and having sex with say said little boy would be a sin, but still not sacrilegious.

Not using a condom, or using a condom, and having sex with the little boy on the alter now, that would be sacrilege.

In the Catholic church sacrilege and blasphemy are the two greatest sins. Some interpretations say that blasphemy against the Holy Spirit (there is a lot of arguement whether this is true, and how one would go about commiting this) is the only sin that cannot be forgiven. So say you were to analy rape a little boy on the alter, then ask for forgiveness, you're a-ok, however if you manage blasphemy against the Holy Spirit then you're screwed.

Wow! You gave that a lot of thought. I had forgotten I even started this debate. You get one up vote for your efforts ;)

nothing in the bible states you can't see the lighter side of things.

the joke is just poking fun at naive children. yes, it points out that catholics don't use condoms, but it's not making fun of that subject itself.

i hear priests tell jokes all the time about God, and even though they probably won't tell this one (cause of it's sexual nature), i don't think they'd find it offensive.

hell, Jay Leno had a priest, a rabbi and a minister come on the show to tell "priest, rabbi, and minister" jokes.

people who get offended by this shit have a stick up their ass.
