This guy was chosen because of diversity/wokeness, not because he was really qualified for the job. This is a common occurrence with liberal wokeness. Diversity courts mediocrity in that if the best, most qualified candidate doesn't have the right look, lifestyle choice, gender etc., they won't hire them. Instead, they will settle for 2nd, 10th, 100th or 1000th best person for the job because of of the aforementioned criteria, criteria that has nothing to do with whether they can do the job or not. Diversity is the bane of getting topnotch talent. Diversity = quotas = affirmative action. I can verify your appraisal of the current intolerable situation. Before coming to the U.S., I ran my own business within the U.K. In my country of origin I was required by law to apply ''positive discrimination'' when filling vacancies so my workforce reflected the religious percentage of the country in which I was trading. This was regardless of the faith which was predominate in the location of my business premises. Once employers lose the freedom to apply their own intuition when making appointments or promotions we have entered a zone where we're all walking on very thin ice. In almost all cases it will have been the employer's insight and business acumen which established and developed the basis of his successful company. By removing these rare attributes from the a corporation's decision making and you'll find the bureaucrats have launched the business onto the slippery slope of bankruptcy.
