Is western culture becoming less rational?

Yes. As the West accumulates more far leftists and Marxists, the West declines into an ocean of stupidity where no individuals exist, you are defined by your group, but you pretend to be tolerant while using violence to militantly intimidate anyone who isn't in your cult.

People like bronto would make you think so (see the blatantly self-administered upvotes on his political propaganda for details), but in general, no.

America is possibly the exception, but in any case I believe America is destined to live fast and die hard. European culture is arguably more stable (Americans would say boring), but since it has existed for longer it is easier to quantify the direction of the variable involved. Most importantly, we need to understand that what you are asking for is the result of an extremely complex process which involves both progression and regression. In my opinion, that result is a very small, incremental increase in favour of reason, which, much like biological evolution, only becomes apparent when measured over hundreds or thousands of years.

Existed longer means closer to extinction. The territory controlled by Britain keeps shrinking.

Ironically it's the opposite. Western society has a deluge of information and the people read samples of it and then think they're equipped to make good decisions about it (when often they're still not). It's totally rational to think based on what you read you're making a good decision (even if some of what you read was irrational in its origins).
