It's sick we have people like Colin Kaepernick refusing to honor America.
We all have concerns over issues near and dear to us. The last I knew, pro life people stand up when they play our national anthem even though we have inhuman pro choice people who support even no restriction abortions when voting for the Democrat party.
You have no choice, you are responsible for abortions.
Let me take his statement and change a couple words..... "I am not going to stand up to show pride in a flag for a country that supports killing innocent human lives for any reason, even up to birth"
He isn't responsible for blacks being oppressed, but you are responsible for abortions.
Kaepernick chooses to ignore the fact that AMERICA no longer supports oppressing Black people!
You side with the cops every time a black person is shot no matter what the circumstances are. You are in a way oppressing black people.
The fact that we will always have some racists, means nothing when it comes to what America stands for.
An entire political party doesn't care about black people.
When I stand up for our national anthem, it's not because I am supporting the killing of millions of innocent unborn lives.
Which you in fact do support.
I stand up for what our flag stands for, not what extremists have done to our laws that once protected all innocent lives.
You are in favor of extremism.
Our constitution supports the right of life for all innocent Americans no matter what Progressives have done to our laws protecting our most vulnerable.
You hate our most vulnerable.
Compassionate Americans will someday change the laws back to a time of humanity for our most innocent unborn lives.
Is that the same compassionate Americans who say that laws don't stop criminals?
America is not to blame for the millions of unborn lives taken, and America is not to blame for a few racists who may exist in ALL OCCUPATIONS.
When you arm the racists it is a problem.
America stands for freedom and protection of all innocent life no matter what racists, or pro choice people have done.
Except for the freedom to protest the national anthem, right?
I support Kapernick and what he is doing. I also applaud him. He is a man of courage and integrity to do what he does and risk all the abuse he is taking. Most of it from brain-dead reactionary fascists like Fromwithin.
When I played hockey at UM, during my second season a black kid at our school was shot by cops in Detroit one weekend while sitting out front of his friend's apartment building. I actually knew the kid a little; we had a Psych class together. And I also played some pick-up hoops with him a couple times at the gym.
So as a protest to this needless killing me and three other guys on the team wore black armbands with his initials on them. The Detroit Free Press even did an article on us.
Hey there Detroit boy what has Colon Stupidnick done to help the people he finds so oppressed ? Can you quote me anything. Colon is a douchebag that has made millions off the backs of Americans. Why doesn't he use that money to help those he finds oppressed? Take your best shot to defend that Detroit Boy !
Kapernick has not "made millions off the back of Americans."
Rather, he has been paid millions by his employers: The San Francisco 49ers of the NFL. To whom he has provided a valuable service that has brought the team profits, as well as some measure of success.
As far as what he has done to help those he believes (rightfully so) are being oppressed. Well, he has done what he can: bring the problem to a national audience. Perhaps this will also cause others to protest, which will in turn cause the powers-that-be in Law Enforcement to pause and re-think their racist and murderous ways. After all, much change for the better in America has been fomented by grass roots protests and public demonstrations. The mass protests of the 1960s for Civil Rights and then the Vietnam War are two examples which readily come to mind.
There...that's my best shot, Outlaw. Most positive political and social change in this country, going back to the Boston Tea Party, was ignited by public dissent. Kapernick, as a millionaire privileged professional athlete is not adversely affected by racial murderous cops. So the easy way out for him would be to do nothing. Yet, he has risked his career and reputation and popularity with many fans by choosing to make a stand.
To this, again, I say Good For Him. Hopefully, more athletes will jump on the bandwagon. I surely hope to see some of my Detroit Lions, Tigers, Pistons, and Red Wings join in! And if they do, you can bet your racist ass I will write them a public letter of commendation to the Letters Section of the Detroit Free Press.
Hey..maybe I'll even mail you a clipping of it!
Is Colon Stupidnick offering any aid to those who are oppressed in Aleppo? Come on Democrats what you got to say ? I know the poster here is afraid to address it because it is nothing more than a left wing dummy who can only copy and paste others post. It has nothing original to post.
