KKK And It's Democratic Roots

http://historynewsnetwork.org/article/3554
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ku_Klux_Klan

The historian Elaine Frantz Parsons describes the membership:

Lifting the Klan mask revealed a chaotic multitude of antiblack vigilante groups, disgruntled poor white farmers, wartime guerrilla bands, displaced Democratic politicians, illegal whiskey distillers, coercive moral reformers, sadists, rapists, white workmen fearful of black competition, employers trying to enforce labor discipline, common thieves, neighbors with decades-old grudges, and even a few freedmen and white Republicans who allied with Democratic whites or had criminal agendas of their own. Indeed, all they had in common, besides being overwhelmingly white, southern, and Democratic, was that they called themselves, or were called, Klansmen.

Historian Eric Foner observed:

In effect, the Klan was a military force serving the interests of the Democratic party, the planter class, and all those who desired restoration of white supremacy. Its purposes were political, but political in the broadest sense, for it sought to affect power relations, both public and private, throughout Southern society. It aimed to reverse the interlocking changes sweeping over the South during Reconstruction: to destroy the Republican party's infrastructure, undermine the Reconstruction state, reestablish control of the black labor force, and restore racial subordination in every aspect of Southern life.

The KKK has deep roots tied to the Democratic Party.
So why is it Democrats of today deny the history of the KKK and it's Democratic Party affiliation ?

Indeed that was it's origin. But now the KKK is fully aligned to the conservative Republican agenda...

Decade after decade Democrats use Black people purely for their votes? They spend every election cycle fanning the flames of concocted racism by constantly regurgitating race bating rhetoric. Approx. 95% vote for Democrats.

So after 8 years of the most Liberal Democrat, how did African Americans fair? Well if you call welfare a career, they are doing great. If you call 72% of Black children living in broken homes a good thing, they are doing wonderful. If you call 45% black children under 6 years old living in poverty a good thing, then keep voting Democrat. Black people have twice as much unemloyment and twice as many people on welfare when you do the percentages.

With numbers like these, one might ask why they would keep voting for Democrats who have proven for decades to have no answers other than keeping them tied to welfare and thereby controlling their vote.

The OBVIOUS reasons for their problems is the number of broken homes with no father influence. Do you hear Democrats speaking to this problem and coming up with any answers? Nah, nothing as usual.

If I were African American, I would trying something different and start asking the GOP to come up with solutions if they gave them their vote.

Well then let's see whom they vote for then. Quite obviously Trump has their interests more in mind than any Democrat could.

Atheists believe that man evolved from animal ....

so it's no big deal for atheists to rationalize and classify certain groups and peoples as "less evolved than they" placing them within the parameter of animal ....

which is exactly how they viewed the Blacks and rationalized slavery

same with the Nazis view of the Jews .... the Nazis being Oh most evolved than all

-------------------------------------------

One thinks of William Wilberforce and his long campaign to end the slave trade in the British Empire . . . Both the British and American abolitionist movements were founded .. nurtured .. financed and led to victory against the horrific evil of slavery by people who were most often inspired and motivated by deep religious conviction

The great social reform movements of the last half of the 19th and the first half of the 20th century ( child labor reform .. etc ) were often led by people of deep religious faith .. Protestant and Catholic .... And of course .. in the lifetime of many of us who were born in the last half of the 20th century .. the most successful and greatest reform movement was the civil rights revolution .. led by a Baptist minister .. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr .. who often said that the movement and the faith that inspired it could not be separated . . . As many will remember .. the civil rights revolution was supported by and led to victory in large part because of the leadership of clergy .. black and white

Actually scientists believe man evolved from animal, not atheists.

Oh, and the Christians who don't believe in evolution have no problem rationalizing those that aren't Christian as inferior. So, come off your high horse.

Both slavery and Nazism were perpetrated by believers in Christ.

The funny thing you tend to find today. is that Right wing people (fascists like hitler were right wing) nowadays encourage religion and want things like prayer in American schools.

So if they are right wing, why do they encourage religion?

Ok one thing a lot of people don't realize.

Democrats and republicans switched views over the years.

The Democratic party denies it's affiliation with the KKK roots because all of the KKK members switched over to become Republicans.

Aww Cali Boy you just can't accept the fact of history. Quite disturbing to you is it ?

Which part of history are you trying to change?

I'll fully accept that the southern conservative racists were in the Democratic party in 1916.

Will you accept what party they are with in 2016?

So what you're saying is the Republicans used to be the good guys and the Democrats used to be the bad guys but now the Republicans are the bad guys and Democrats the good guys?

I must say I agree. The Republicans weren't always, but are now, the racist party.

The article from your debate header is outdated, and when that KKK mask was lifted to reveal somebody who may or may not have been affiliated with the Democratic party, well, it was not the same party as today. Not even close.

At the time of the civil war, the southern slave owners were democrats and the Republicans from the north, the abolitionists, were the liberals. That has all been switched around today. The democrats are the liberal progressive party. And you know this.

You also should remember that the primary reason the DNC lost the south was because of LBJ and his Civil Rights legislation in the 1960s. His whole Great Society platform.

So you are calling the party of LBJ, who did more more integration and black civil rights, the party with ties to the KKK? This is laughably antiquated thinking. And you are grave digging long gone and obsolete anecdotes from the past in order to make your biased point.

This is not good debate techniques and in a real debate forum as they have in academia you would be shot down and laughed off the dais in a matter of minutes.

Do yourself a favor and read up on LBJs Great Society.

And learn about the more timely and accurate roots of today's democratic party.
