Kids can't consent to sex with adults (thank God), but can consent to Transgender surgery?

Thanks for actually addressing the debate. We don't allow teens to drink until they are 18. Life altering decisions such as dysfunctional gender change should be no less than that. I consider it child abuse for a mother to put her child thru something as dangerous and life altering. The boy wil be sterile for life after taking the hormones and drugs. 1

13 is also ludicrous because during puberty, teens get all sorts of weird feelings, and have no clue to how they will feel when grown. We should be trying to teach people that these Transgender surgeries are dangerous and have proven to have lousy results. Rather then embracing all these unnatrual orientations, we should stop pushing it, and allow our children to grow up learning the natural design of our bodies, and after they are grown make their own decisions. We as adults have an obligation to teach our children how life is suppose to be, not how activist groups want it to be. 1

I don't think we should castrate children. I know some will disagree, but I believe that children should not be chemically castrated, even if they want to be. A child's ability to understand the long term implications of a decision is limited. Even teenager's brains are not fully developed and they will take risks because they are not fully able to consider the consequences of their decisions. If a child still believes that Santa Claus, the Easter Bunny, or CNN news are real, then he is not of sufficient mental development to make a decision that may have lifelong consequences. If the kid needs a parent's permission to take an aspirin at school, then surely he is not old enough to consent to chemical castration. 1

I could not have said it better. As my debate said, we have laws protecting children from themselves by saying they can not consent to sex with adults. It's so hypocritical and radical for these same Democrats to say kids are capable of deciding whether they should have sex change drugs and surgeries. I liked your comparison to santa claus and CNN. You might as well add the vast majority of News networks who are biased toward the Left. 1
