CreateDebate is a social debate community built around ideas, discussion and democracy.
If this is your first time checking out a debate, here are some quick tips to help get you started:
Arguments with the highest score are displayed first.
Argument replies (both in favor and in opposition) are displayed below the original argument.
To follow along, you may find it helpful to show and hide the replies displayed below each argument.
To vote for an argument, use these icons:
You have the power to cast exactly one vote (either up or down) for each argument.
Once you vote, the icon will become grayed out and the argument's score will change.
Yes, you can change your vote.
Debate scores, side scores and tag scores are automatically calculated by an algorithm that primarily takes argument scores into account.
All scores are updated in real-time.

Duh, why not? America has always upheld the fact that we believe in tolerance and freedom to practice whatever as long as it does not harm or endanger others. With that said, why should we take away the rights of people whose supposed crime is being in love? Yes, the Bible says that homosexuality is wrong, but so is eating pork, stealing ANYTHING, gossiping, women wearing men's clothing (pants, which were made for men so technically all of the jean-wearing religious bitches are sinning 24/7), etc; but who said that everyone has to follow the Bible? That's how we have religious freedom, we have to choice to practice any religion we want, or we don't have to practice it. So, to say that my future boyfriend and I don't have the right to get married because a bunch of people believe in an anti-homo God is technically going against freedom of religion, if you have the ability to think that deeply.
By everyone else, you mean the people with physical, mental disabilities? The social rejects, the weirdo's, the so-called 'undesirables' e.t.c.?
All together, they way outnumber the so called 'normal people'. Does it matter? Nope. Just people. Of course they should if you want to live in a functioning society.
Normal people would be those who fall under the largest portion of a bell curve of a given population. "Normal people" by definition outnumber abnormal or statistical deviant people.
If a bell curve were to measure sexuality, the LGBT community would deviate from the norm and be statistical outliers, thus the mathematical justification for the phrase "sexual deviant".
I don't believe the LGBT are normal, but I don't believe they should have fewer rights either.
Question: Should a Transgender person inform a potential partner of their sexual identity? Because if they lie about it, I think that would be immoral.
If they lie then bad on them. If anyone lies about anything to a partner then yeah. If they hide it, they're not lying, but if they love the person, they should be able to tell them.
Yes they should, they're just people who aren't very good at the peg-hole game. The gays put the circles in in the square peg, the lesbians just bang the pieces together, and the bisexuals just try putting it anywhere they can.
It's totally unfair to deny someone there rights on account of there sexuality we are all human beings all unique in our own way and deserving of the same rights and privileges as our fellow citizens.
Yes, they should. Choice is something that shouldn't drive loss of rights unless it is a criminal act. When I define criminal act, I define it in a way whereby it does direct or indirect damage to another.
I am liking this debate. Over a week old, and it keeps popping up. It also shows me the different attitudes of members on this site, which are.. Interesting??
No, they are degenerates. If your gay, just stay in the closet and do your own thing in your bed. Here's how I explain myself "I don't hate gay people, it's fags I don't like!" What is means is, if your a homosexual do your own thing, just keep it a secret or tell your friend and keep it a secret.
Degenerates? What the hell do you mean by degenerates? Why the fuck should we have to pretend to be everything but ourselves just because you don't agree with it. Its not like we would rape you, so what reasoning did you go through to have the nerve to call us degenerates?
You don't have to pretend to be something else, you should just try to not seem so degenerate. I think that's fair enough. You can do all that gay stuff in your rooms anyways, kind of like your very own secret group. (:
That's like telling a black guy to not look so dark, or telling a Christian to not be so religious. There will be different standards for different people; everyone has their own version of what is acceptable. And, seeing that you're a kid, you obviously have no depth into what you're saying. That "gay stuff" you're talking about are just the same things you see heterosexual couples do everyday, everywhere; we just do it with a person of the same sex. That doesn't make it wrong, its just different.
I know what I am saying and I know it is very offensive to some people. I am very torn on a lot of things, their are two differnt ideaoligies in my head. Both of them agree on this one.
Well, you can tell a Christian to not be so religious in public and blacks can't change their skin color. Basicly what I said was to not be gay in public. It's different because you can just hide it. Like Christians are asked to "hide" their faith, which often they are forced to do in other nations. by not acting gay in public I mean to not show your in a homosexual relationship in public. Just go do your thing in yor bed.
Uh, no, you can't stop being gay because being gay isn't a choice. We don't get to choose what gender we're attracted to, just like straight people. Yes, Christians are told to hide their faith in public in other countries, but does that make it right? Basically, you want to deny homosexuals the right to display affection outside the bedroom, even though you can go see a straight couple make out and it not be a problem. And you still haven't said why you believe we should "hide being gay".
It is a choice if your bisexual. 99% of the population is stright so, we out number homosexuals. Um, I don't mind homosexuals unless they are public about it because,
1. It's downright gross to most people
2. It's against the Christian religion ( Not that I care a lot, just don't publicly do it)
Where in the world did you get 99% from? Obviously, you don't know what the hell you're talking about. And actually, more people accept public displays of affection by homosexuals than those who think it's gross so that's incorrect as well. And if you don't care that it's against Christianity, why did you put it in your argument?
Then how about you submit an actual argument supported by facts, before running your goddamn mouth? Really, you're going to resort to violence because you can't come up with any good reply?
Yeah, thats really what I am doing. I give up, you win! I'll never change my mind though! So why don't you go to a gay strip club and meet the love of your life?
It's not violence, it what I like to call an insult, Malachi. A more violent response would be " Shut up before a go to your home and kill your family!" Which I would never do over a stupid debate.
If you think this debate is so stupid, 1. why are you still arguing and 2. why did you down vote all of my arguments, which is really juvenile by the way.
You can disagree with me, just be able to support your beliefs. You're immature because us gays are too queenly to deal with the thoughts of common breeders :P
