Just the way alliances work, it would mean that the US is going to start WW3 since the it attacked without provocation countries the US is allied with. All of the Americas would get involved because it would perceive US as a traitor and danger to their sovereignty. The UN would get involved. They would put heavy sanctions on the US, breaking of all trade deals, possible collapsing of US economy. (Just look at the response when Russia attacked Crimea) Speaking of Russia, they would probably take it as an opportunity to help the opposition. Then If the US decides to break its nuclear deal and use a thermonuclear weapons, it could mean an alliance between Russia and EU countries then possible retaliation.
Well, if they want to come here so badly, let's just annex them and be done with it. That way they can stay where they are and still be on U.S. soil ;)
Not everyone in Central America wants to be part of the US, if anyone. Not only do some of these countries take extreme pride in their sovereignty, a lot of places still harbor strong anti-American sentiment. That's do to the fact that those countries had democratically elected leader overthrown by CIA operations. Heck... Panama was part of Colombia until the US threatened Colombia with war over control of the Panama canal.
If removing their democratically elected leaders (and if the threat of war) worked, then let's do it again. We threaten them with war if they are unable to keep their people within their borders or we just remove their leaders and replace them with one of ours who will keep their citizens there ;)
You are also making the assumption that a government has some vague duty to keep people in their respective countries. The US can't even do that with it's own population, even after punishing people with ex-pat taxes.
Armed conflict is expensive. Engaging in armed conflict with every terrorist organization in Central America would put a huge strain on the economy, it would severely increase the deficit. Which means the government will have to increase taxation.
The cost is the MOST important aspect to conciser because it's a preventable war. It's not your backyard because the war effort includes taking over Central America. Which is not going to go smoothly especially if the UN puts sanctions on the US. Which in turn will make the cost even greater, if not downright bankrupt the US with its questionably massive debt. Central American countries are also allied with other super powers meaning there's a large possibility they'll get involved too.

Hello joe:
It's NOT that they wanna come here.. It's that they wanna escape from there.. But, as you so astutely observed, by simply by moving the border, we change "there" into "here", and everybody's happy.
