I do not believe in universal "meaning." However, I have chosen to give my own life meaning, and many other people have done the same. The meanings we create are temporary and localized, but that doesn't have to be a sad thing. We still have an effect, no matter how brief. Side: Disagree

Your only looking at the outside of the box. Trying looking deeper. And we arent the creaters of life. Our ancestors breed us? Are we animals? Do you choose to think in such a narrow minded path? Surely our ancestors gave us life. Surely they breathed in our bones and raised us from the dead. No Jesus christ has defeated sin. He is our God, he gave us life, he conquered death, he gave us a way out so we are no longer conquered by sin. The law will forever more not be able to bind us. Beleiving in him and excepting what he has done for us will set you free. And when your free your free indeed. Side: agree

I absolutely agree with this. We as human beings have this horrible habit of tacking a meaning onto everything, including why we are on the planet. The only meaning we could possibly scrape out of our existence is to simply reproduce and continue on our genes. That's what they want to do. Read "The Selfish Gene" it will give you some insight. People who try to look for a meaning to humanity are trying to find a silver lining on something that doesn't exist. It's ok to be one of "the glass is half full" people, but so what if life has no meaning? Does that then mean we should all just die, because what could possibly be the point in existing if we have no meaning. People need to shed that preconceived notion and just LIVE. Taking your entire life to find the "meaning of life" is just a waste of time. You're going to die in the end, and one day in millions and millions of years, or perhaps sooner than later, this planet will be destroyed by some odd thing or another. And then you know what, things will continue on in the universe as if we never existed in the first place. Side: agree
The only meaning we could possibly scrape out of our existence is to simply reproduce and continue on our genes. That's what they want to do And why isn't this a proper answer? Animals do it, plants do it and amoeba do it. Who said it'd take a sentient brain to know the meaning of life? Side: Disagree
