Man vs. Nature

which is better?

so apparently, i need to clairify, this is not about which would own the other, it is about more or less which you perfer due to them trying to destroy each other.

What are we? Well if your reading this and are not a computer program, then I can presume that you, like me, are a human being. Perhaps your a super intelligent chimp or dolphin or whale, but odds are extremely good that your a man or a woman or some combination or negation there of. And for our sake, I hope that Man triumphs over nature. If not, then this short brutal existence that has defined our kinds time on earth will have been of little to no consequence. We could DO so much better.

if man triumphs over nature, than that means nature is dead, if nature is gone and dead, so is man. by killing nature we kill ourselves. can we survive with out air? water? plants? no. with out nature there is no man.

Agreed. :]

Ok, ok, I'll add a side about how man dominates nature: they invented baths and hot water production. and bed mattresses. and architectural buildings to live in. and microwaves. :-)

this wasnt supposed to be about "domination" per say, more about which destroys which worse.

Well right now we're pretty much pissing on nature's face with our bastardization of it and playing Gee Oh Dee, so I think we might be winning. Harr harr.

Well, ignoring the fallacy, since we are natural and incapable of separating ourselves from that at this point.

I would say Man, since I am one, if we're talking about an end of the world smack down, two enter one leave, kind of scenario,

we have self-realization, and so to ourselves have become more important.

at some point we're going to have to leave this planet, or be swallowed by the sun, so I say Man. And let's get on that space travel thing or we're f%$#d.

but, if two enter the only one that can leave with out the other is nature. man is a part of it, like a finger is a part of your body, your body can survive with out the finger, but the finger cant survive without the body.

I mean we cannot separate ourselves from nature at this point because we are biological. And probably will be forever. But maybe not, the sun won't explode for a few billion years yet, plenty of time to figure this stuff out. Certainly we will be able to leave "nature" when refering to earth at some point. It's pretty much inevitable unless we're hit by a huge asteroid or something. You should look up Kurzweil and read some of his stuff, he talks about it alot, though he's a little out there at times.

Man could not have existed till now without any development.there should be development.man was more linked to nature long long before but they all died young.many lost their kids before they were born because of insufficient food.so those brilliant men found medicinal trees, cut it.they learnt to hunt to protect themselves.hence hurting of nature is inevitable for the existence of human race

If nature is so strong then where are the dodos and the rest of the Amazon rainforest???

I wanted to share my recent experience, which I believe aligns perfectly with your organization's goals. I had the privilege of going on a nature tour with a knowledgeable guide, and it was a truly transformative experience. Along the way, I discovered a website that offers Foraging classes. The educational aspect and the connection with nature were outstanding. I thought it might be interesting for your organization to explore a potential collaboration or partnership in promoting such experiences that foster a love and appreciation for nature.

nature can survive with out man, man cannot survive with out nature. nature nurtures and yes, destroys, but it destroys us in self defense. if there were more of us, we would be so over populated that the earth would not be able to feed us. as man destroys nature he destroys himself.

Side: Nature
3 points

Well, while I agree with your first and last point,

but it destroys us in self defense

is completely innaccurate, as the act of "self-defense" would require some type of conscious.

If nature had a conscious, we wouldn't need to worry about it... unless it got pissed or something.

Side: Nature

I don't know about better but I do know that nature will virtually win every time something tweaks its butt! Nature is so unpredictable that it will harm and kill without notice. Man can do that too but not is so many numbers as nature can and does!

Side: Nature
3 points

Nature always win men, because without consciousness they are perfect in the sense that they will never exhaust themselves out of existance for ever.

If you observe nature they are made of simply atoms, molecules or elements.

Nature in itself has a special potential, that is it's ability to sustain itself by recycling.

Oh did i say recycling ?

You can say that leaves that fell off the tree will land on the floor, decaying and forming another ecosystem.

This is nature.

For some countries they have the four seasons namely Spring, Summer, Autumn and winter.

All of the seasons have their special characteristics such as Spring being refreshing, summer as hot, autumn as cool and winter as cold.

And more importantly is the hydrologic cycle which i think is also a part of nature.

It will never end, even if it is interrupted it will soon continue sometime later.

That is nature, which is seemingly much more capable and powerful than man.

Many had said human is more superior than nature by means of inventing, creating history and so many more.

However we do not understand that most of our inventions or actions are harmful towards us or nature in someways or so.

Therefore inplicating nature and many others in the tornado of harm and conflict.

Wars are inclusive in the destruction of nature.

I wonder how did our ancestors lived without incuring the wrath of mother nature...

Nature. because it's overall, more peaceful than a man. :-)

i would like to add that also, nature doesnt hurt man like man hurts nature.

I would like to add earthquakes, volcanoes, cancer, water, and perhaps spontanious combustion (jury's still out) are all natural,

along with death.

And as nature is still alive and kicking, and literally billions of people are dead, I say we owe her a good one ;)

Seriously?

You must have a very innocent view of what nature can do to man.

A single tornado can kill hundreds of people.

A single earthquake can kill thousands of people.

A single tsunami can kill millions of people.

You want me to go on?

Side: Man

Nature will always kicks mans ass. Nature still has untold secrets we haven't even dabbled into yet. Man is pretty much figured out, except for our emotional problems!

Side: Nature

Nature will always win. Nature is currently winning, through global warming, pollution, et cetera. Earth will become inhabitable for the destructive race of men and Earth will flourish again.

Nature will always win. You may cheat cancer, or another disease, but death is inevitable.

Nature will always win. Nature will eventually tear through these parking lots and down buildings and everything else manmade.

Go nature!

• Nature is more power than man.

• Nature will cause a great damage in our lives, an example from the story will be that the rising of the river almost affect the village, causing several floods and deaths.

• Almost without nature, man can’t survive, because nature give all to man, a real example of this is food, because without water, the plants can’t grow up, so we can’t feed other animals, so they die, and we die. Without nature, men is nothing.

• Natural disasters, as Tsunamis and Earthquakes, could destroy all men had been doing, as buildings, cultives, etc.

• Almost we could destroy nature in week, months or years. But nature in few seconds would destroy us at all.

• As a final conclusion, as I say before, without nature we are nothing, we can’t survive.

This is a personal argument from a school work i did.

I totally agree with the power of nature. Man have to control nature due to his fault not by nature. Nature was born before, so the man created by nature.

Nature. Its going to kill us all anyways. :)
