Regardless of how civilized the world is, there are still large numbers of people living in the most primitive conditions. The most important of these because they are the most scientifically studied are the "aborigines" of Australia. The scientific study of the aboriginal Australian forms the basis of what is best known of primitive societies in general. Side: MLK

I was just thinking that we would look at everything Obama has done until now to become President, and everything that he does while President would just be thought of as something done within his Presidency. So, the question is, at this point, whose achievements have had a bigger impact on us? Side: Barack Obama
To answer your question, Dr. King had a much more profound impact on America, thus far. I mean, he only led the civil rights movement of the 1960's, enabling African Americans the same rights as any other American. This was kind of a good thing for Obama, since if we didn't have a civil rights movement, I'm sure no black man would be in office, whether as president or as senator. Side: MLK
Civil and political rights are a class of rights and freedoms that protect individuals from unwarranted government action and ensure one's ability to participate in the civil and political life of the state without discrimination or repression. Side: MLK
MLK most likely made it possible for Obama to get elected. Also so far Obama has only gotten elected, MLK was in marches and protests he fought hard and paid the ultimate price. Obama was elected because of the color of his skin and not the content of his character. Side: MLK

"Obama was elected because of the color of his skin and not the content of his character." Actually Obama was elected because his predecessor was one of the worst presidents in history. This severely hurt the republican party. What sealed the deal was the nomination of Sarah Plain which struck the final blow that caused the schism between fiscal conservatives and religious, social conservatives. It's much easier to dismiss all of this and just say it was because Obama is black though. I find it funny how conservatives half the time say, "Wahhhh it's not fair he only got elected because he is black" and then the other half of the time say "He's not even black what the hell, he's only half black." Typical Conservative Cognitive Dissonance (TM). Side: Barack Obama

As Dr. King asked to be remembered, I will tell them that this man gave his life serving others. I will tell them that this man tried to love somebody. I will tell them that because he did these things, they live today with the freedom God intended, their citizenship unquestioned, their dreams unbounded.
