I've ended more lives than I care to remember. Maybe they were all insects, but still. Human life is something entirely different. Though, if one wants to die, but hasn't the means (ie. quadriplegia), I've no problem with him getting somebody else to kill him.

that is true indeed but as a human life..can you bear the guilt and the feeling of ending a human life even when it is needed..you are talkin about a human life....a soul..personally i support mercy killing cz i dont have a guilty conscious and i couldnt care less bu still opinions are more than welcome ;)

I didn't say that I would want to kill the person, but there are people who wouldn't mind. I don't think I'd be able to do it.

Well mercy killing is recommended provided it's carried within the limits,it's surely five times better than allowing an ailing guy to suffer to death;definitely,it is advisable but it is something which can be tabboed so better don't make it a bad name

It is not my choice to chose who will die and who can't. What if they would have chosen something eles.

well yes it might not be your choice but what if...a person is suffering in front of you so bad that you feel guilty if you leave him suffer? then you would be put in maze..save him from his misery or leave him suffer?

Both your tags could be taken to mean the same thing, as in "who am I to judge" meaning it is the sufferers decision which they well and likely would decide to end it, and "better than suffering" which is exactly the same thing.

So that and the "mwahaha" make it a bit confusing.

But yeah, death in the face of suffering should be a personal choice. Where anyone gets off thinking they know better than the subject of the suffering is beyond me.

Whether I'd do the deed myself: Yes in any instance. If it were me suffering, with a bit of natural human trepidation and reservation I'd when ready end my own life, gods and man be damned.

If it were another and they wanted it, in the face of them truly suffering after ensuring it and if legal my conscious would not suffer a bit from providing a mercy.

I'd only mercy kill someone if they asked me to.

ah~ but what if they are severely injured? then, maybe you will find yourself in a situation where you can't wait for them ask you...

Well, I'd probably know them quite well, if I was prepared to assist suicide- so I'd either have to brush up on telepathy :) or I'd know if they wanted to die.

If I was unsure I wouldn't.
