Michael Jackson (1958 - 2009)

Has anyone ever been as talented as Michael Jackson or as insane?  His talent always overshadowed his negative press, as far as I can see and his penchant for writing great music eclipses much of what was wrong with Michael Jackson.  This was to be his last world-wide tour beginning on July 13th.  Little did we know that in an instant Michael would be gone from us.  After spending over 40 years in show business, it seemed he had it all but then just let it all go again.  A supreme showman, fabulous dancer and singer is no more.  Do you think anyone who's on the scene can replace him or ever will?

He was an amazing singer and his songs will live on. I think we should think of his music as his soul remaining with us forever and he will be missed by many.

Well, he was the King of Pop, Elvis was the King of Rock and Roll, Madonna is the Queen of Pop.... when Madonna dies, she'll be seen as much an icon as Michael was. Man, I'm gonna miss MJ. He was the first musician I ever liked. My favorite song is Dirty Diana. It rules.

...Let's not forget Aretha Franklin, the Queen of Soul, and that she most definately is.

I'm after his time, but I love to listen to this guy's music. Beat It and Thriller are AWESOME. It is so sad how much of a train wreck MJ's life tuned out to be, and since I was only around duing the worst half of his life, I guess I will never truely appreciate his legacy.

I'm gonna miss him, I'll tell ya. Not just the guy's music, but hearing about him every other week in the news. And what are those kids that always walk around in the weird masks next to him gonna do? It's a little sad. But a little rightfully deserved. He was, no denying it, a pedophile, and a child molester, so...

I don't know Tony...I just never believed all that stuff about him being a pedophile or child molester. Granted he was weird...very weird but that was one thing I could never see stick to him. The first one, he paid off to get rid of them and the second lost the case because of faulty testimony. I don't know but it always sounded fishy to me.

Lets see.. Mozart, Da Vinci, Raphael, Gene Kelly.

Dolly Parton has more talent in a single tit.

And I don't think any of them have ever touched molested a child.

His abnormal behavior has nothing to do with him as a musician. Mozart, Da Vinci, Raphael, and Gene Kelly haven't molested anyone... that we are aware of. And just because we haven't heard of it, doesn't mean it hasn't happened. Celebrities are as much like normal people as in that they're capable of doing the crappy things normal people do everyday. But whether they molest, rape, rob, or whatever, it doesn't take away their talent they're known for.

I specified that I didn't think any of them had molested any children in my original post.

I was also stating that they are all more talented than Michael Jackson.

... it doesn't take away their talent they're known for

It does for me. I don't support talent that comes from a bad person.

Side: RIP MJ

I was never really sure about the whole child-molesting business, and I won't judge MJ because of it. He was a musical genius; he revolutionized pop. As such a young person, I don't know if I'll ever be able to appreciate his legacy, but I do as much as I can.

R.I.P. Michael Jackson

R.I.P. Farrah Fawcett

To lose them both in the same day is almost too much.

Side: RIP MJ

Add to that list, Ed McMahon...a TV icon and second banana beyond compare. R.I.P. Ed McMahon.

Side: RIP MJ

Rip you were the best there every was and will ever be.
