A study performed by Daniel Kahneman and Angus Deaton of Princeton University , involving 450,000 Us residents found that there was a correlation between higher happiness and money up to an income of $75,000. Link. It was observed, however, that the difference in time spent in a bad mood was only 12% in favour of the richer. So much for the science, on to reason. It is reasonable to conclude that a person living in a nice house, with healthy, educated children and no stress over insurmountable bills would be happier than a person living in a shack with ignorant, malnourished children and the looming threat of repossession. Of course, some who choose well-paid but dull careers such as accountancy and auditing are naturally going to be disappointed with life, but that is their own fault for being the system's "bitch". Ladies and Gentlemen, thank you and goodnight. Side: It can

It can, to an extent. It's been proven, too. People earning around $75,000 per year tend to be happier than most. That's not always the case, but typically. I think that it's because they are making enough to afford their basic needs and still have some disposable income to purchase things like vacations and other material goods. Side: It can

Money allows you to eat, put a roof over your head, put shoes on your feet and clothes on your back. I can't imagine anybody being sad without those things. And why would I want to pay for my kids' schooling? I'm sure they'd be just as happy living out the rest of their days with no education, no employment, crooked teeth and no future...sounds like a good time. Side: It can

Having money could bring about other issues but for the most part you wouldn't have as much stress. You wouldn't have to worry so much about how you're able to pay the bills or if you can buy food or not. It'd be easier to get medical treatment or a good lawyer. You wouldnt have to worry so much about getting scholarships. So I wouldn't plainly just said it BUYS happiness. But it sure does help. Side: It can

People will be your friends if you pay them enough. You're shallow. You may have friends, but that doesn't mean you're happy. Medical care and doctors will be available to you 24/7 if you pay them enough. Depending on where you are, they are available anyway. Buying a mansion and a Lamborghini would sure make me happy. Of course, but for how long? A few weeks, months. Not forever. Side: It can
can money buy health or happiness or frndship? money can buy health because doctors will be by your side till death, trying every medicine and remedy to bring back your life, while a man with no money will buy him no medications, leading to sadness and depression, while a person who will have enough money may be cured and will lead a happy life soon after. if you see people who have money do have friends who are capable of helping them in times of problems. although these are well chosen friends people with less money don't really have friends who are capable of making ends meet. so overall a person with more money lives a happy and good life while a man with less or no money leads a life of stress, unhappiness, and 'money' problems. What do you mean by happiness? Do you mean real happiness or simply satisfied at having money available to you. If money is your goal in life you will not achieve the real knowledge of life that is far more satisfying and rewarding. Greater knowledge is available to all and is in itself a free gift to everyone. I would rather live in a tent and appreciate the gift of knowledge and to spread to those who would ask of this gift.
