From someone who hates money because it has done nothing but turn people against one another I have to say. Yes money does bring happiness. But not because you have tons of green paper. But because that green paper gives you the freedom everyone should have had from birth. Its sort of funny how money can equal freedom and oppression at the same time.

Side: YES!!!

Yes, money do make people happy whether it is forever or for a moment.

Give a random person a twenty dollar bill and i bet you they will at least have a smile on their face 99 percent of the time.

I honestly believe those who say "no" to this debate are fools. And that they are trying to sound smart.

Is it pure happiness? I don't think so.

I think yes, money makes people happy, because as all know people always have needs, and these needs are satisfied in most cases by buying goods or services in our current world. Therefore, in order to buy something u need MONEY!!!

I think initially we have to give the definition of meaning Happiness. Wikipedia has never lied me: "Happiness is a mental state of well-being characterized by positive or pleasant emotions ranging from contentment to intense joy". So, I think with one word we can name it as satisfaction state of person. This state might be at any time whether you feel that. When we feel that? What really makes us being satisfied ? On this question the article of Claudia Wallis "The New Science of Happiness" (www.time.com) will answer you as well)) So, according to her article where she underlined the research by Diener, among others, he had shown that once our basic needs are enjoyed, additional income does little to increase our sense of satisfaction with life. It means that the money is the flexible source which can be able to manage your state in life. Moreover, the article "Does Money Bring Happiness?"by Vishal emphasized a study conducted by University of Illinois indicated that more than 30 percent of the richest people in America were not as happy as the person who earned a modest income. It means that others, who remained 70% of them are mostly happy. And the main thing which is impact on that is bucks. To support my idea further, the most richest people are old as the forbes' list indicates. So, according to the Claudia Wallis's article as I've written before in fact, that older people are more consistently satisfied with their lives than the young. And they're less prone to dark moods: a recent survey by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention found that people ages 20 to 24 are sad for an average of 3.4 days a month, as opposed to just 2.3 days for people ages 65 to 74. To, sum up my position the money is the source of the human state that brings them happiness as we determined the definition and considered some statistics, studies, researches.

Although a stable income to support oneself as well as their family is indeed key to happiness, nothing makes me more happy than knowing someone cares for me. When someone sincerely says "I love you.", it makes me much happier than any amount of money ever could. Money indeed brings happiness for a while, but love fuels happiness for a life time.

The relationship between money and happiness is complex. While financial stability can provide comfort and opportunities, true happiness often stems from meaningful relationships, personal growth, and a sense of purpose. It's important to prioritize emotional well-being alongside financial success. For those seeking quick solutions, the app Borrow Money Instantly & Easy might offer assistance, but long-term contentment requires a holistic approach beyond monetary gains.

Although the lack of money can make one unhappy, money itself cannot guarantee happiness. This is exemplified by those who inherit a large sum only to live life in despair.

I agree that sometimes money helps to solve some big problems. Of course, it is happy when your problems are solved and you don't have any hard situations. I think money just helps us to be happy, but it doesn't make us happy. I have met many causes, when people need money so much. I don't mean that they need money to be rich, to buy something very expensive and unnecessary, just to show other people that you have it. They really need money to save lives of their children, families or close people. Since I have heard the story when one child was very sick and he has very horrible and hard illness, but his parents haven't money to heal him. They have to ask help from other people in this situation. It is very sad stories of the life. At these moments I think, may be if they have money, they would be happy. I want to say that we should use money only for needs. It doesn't have any meaning if you spend money for undeserved things.

Does it bring happiness? I think this is a great question and here are my 5 cents worth- Happiness means different things to different people

1. Time flies. The rich buy expensive rolexes to keep track of it and the poor just enjoy it to the fullest moment. A second of joy in the face of adversity is more precious to the poor than a minute ticked off buy a platinum time keeper.

2. Clothes make the man. An expensive outfit hand tailored by an immigrant who does not even speak english yet is for a single day hemmed by a person whose blood sweat and tears drench their simplified attire. Which happen to be the same qualitites that America was built upon.

3. One for the road. A car driven by someone who paid more for it than what most minimum wage workers earn in a year will be the same one serviced by a mechanic who will go home at night driving a car that he names "betsy". "Betsy" will have more oil changes and flat tires fixed by hands that will love and caress her than what most people get growing up.

4. 5 Star Restaurants. The person about to set down and eat a dish full of ingredients that the average person cannot even pronounce will be satisfied after ordering from the menu. The chef who made the dinner will go home in the evening and share a real home cooked meal with their family.

5. Education pays. The professional that spends an 8 hour shift merging companies and sending out pink slips will be repeating the mantra "profit before people" during that time. The person who receives the layoff notice will go stand in the unemployment line and often let someone more down on their luck step ahead of them and when they recieve a thankyou for that they will be whispering in their mind "values and morals support the people and lift them up"
