Rap. A drum machine and someone spitting in a mic. Maybe a little bit of poetic talent. That's about it. I feel so sorry for young people. I can still catch Elton touring occasionally, and the Who still tours!

I like some of the contemporary music, but I still go back to the 70's and listen to many of the singers/groups from back then. I was just recently listening to Harry Chapin; his songs just popped in my head and I knew I had to youtube a few of his tunes. Here's one of his greats:

Western music has steadily deteriorated since the Classical period.

Ahhhh...Mozart..Bach...Saint Saenz...Tchaikovsky...Dvorak....Vivaldi..Handel....and some of the operatic works of Mozart, Verdi, Strauss, and Wagner.

That was true magical music that liffs the soul. Inspiring and enlightening. True genius.

Pop music is to that Classical music as comic books or ghetto graffitfi is to classic art by Rembrandt, Picasso, and Michaelangelo.

It's a shame you guys don't know about the finer things in life.

I will be glad to offer some suggestions to anybody wishing to delve into Classical music.
