For years and years not only did kids not have phones in school, SCHOOLS DIDN'T EVEN HAVE PHONES!!!!

And the world kept turning.

Unless you are an EMT, on call organ transplant surgeon, fireman, or a superhero, there is no emergency that will not still be there to panic about when class is over, or in case of a real emergency, when the principal calls you on that PA contraption.

Cell phones are a great advance in technology and communications, but a human can indeed survive an entire hour or even more, without checking their cell phone.

i admit, there are times when i text throughout a whole class period. during those times, i think the no cell phone policy should not be in existence.

HOWEVER...when i look at the bigger picture, cell phones should not be allowed during lessons. every minute you spend texting someone during class is a minute you're jeopardizing of making something of yourself. you text, you don't pay attention. you don't pay attention, you screw yourself over.

you're better off putting the cell phone aside while you're educating yourself. any other time by all means use it to your liking.

You know me still being in school I totally disagree with this, thers's not any reason why I think that cell phones should not be allowed in class. I know that they can be distracting, but if your phones on vibrate then no one can hear it. what if there's an emergency? whats going to happen then?. I just want to see how other people feel about this situation. ASK YOUR KIDS.....What they think about it and whats there opinon........

Cell phones are really nothing more than another distraction for irresponsible students. There is really no way to stop students from doing things like doodling, reading another book, or daydreaming. Students need to be responsible for themselves and take their education seriously. If they would, then cell phones being a disruption to the class wouldn't be a problem.

If a cell phone does disrupt the class, however, by ringing or by an actual vocal conversation during class, there is no reason that the student's cell phone should be taken, because that student shows that s/he cannot take the responsibility to turn down the volume or to turn the cell phone off.

One reason that cell phones should be absolutely not allowed is during tests, because a cell phone is an easy way to provide answers to other students and to cheat in other ways. Students should have the opportunity to remove their cell phones so that there is no chance of cheating.

Education should be your number one priority. If an emergency happens, it can wait until after school. I mean, how many emergencies has there been in your life time that required your attention? If they had stayed in school and learned something then they wouldn't be calling you about a drug deal gone wrong. I mean, what possible kind of emergency would anyone be calling you about?

i live in the uk so in my school does allow them but not to been seen and be off in class all times. but i think mobile phones should be allowed in school.

i think we should have cell phones in class because it would Be a lot of fun to have cell phones in class because we could text and on test days we could put them a side.
