Nicest debate
I'm getting tired of seeing all these torture debates on here, I so i'm going to counter it. What is the nicest thing you could do to someone? :)

Yeah, but I can't go to a friend and say: "Hey, what's going on? You're really, really stupid, occasionally quite the bitch, dress like a slut and sleep around like a whore, and you drink so much your liver has probably already failed. But you're really nice most of the time, and you've been a good friend to me." That's not kind. At all. Even though it's all true- and the last sentence makes me love her to death- it wouldn't go over very well at all. Side: Little White Lies
There is a difference between an honest fact and an honest opinion. That said, sometimes the nicest thing to say isn't the best thing to say. Maybe you should tell your friend to stop drinking. Lives have been saved that way. Honesty is one of the best ways to help somebody. You can't always be nice. Not if you want to be a true friend. But you saying: "You're really, really stupid, occasionally quite the bitch, dress like a slut and sleep around like a whore" Sounds a little one sided to me. It is merely your opinion. That's true. There's nothing that hurts more than thinking you can count on someone and finding out you can't and never could. Although I don't think it's necessary to tell EVERYTHING you think about someone to them, honesty about where they stand with you and honesty in opinions they ask you for is definitely important. Surprise them by doing all their chores for the day, looking at them when they come home and telling them you love them, oh so very much, and that your life wouldn't be as rich and full without them, cook them a fabulous dinner with flowers on the table and have fabulous sex on the living room floor for hours on end while sipping Champagne and eating strawberries. Ask them what they want, more than anything else, and do your best to give it to them. Like if they want to fly, take them sky diving. If they want to go to Paris, take them. Of course this assumes that you have infinite money and resources...>_> So, in real life, I think the nicest thing you can do for a person is to love them and show them your love in any way you can. And you can try to understand them. That's pretty huge, too. Side: Do it all for them
