Norway Shooter May Only Face 21 Years in Prison: Is That Justice?

Complain all you want about the American justice system, but if you pull off the kind of cold-blooded terror attacks like the one in Norway, you will probably go away forever. Not so much in Norway.

If that is the law, can't change it now.-------------------------

Side: yes

Aren't they considering changing it? Those were government kids, and the politicians will be steaming and powerful enough to get something changed.

Side: yes

Of course, they can change anything. He simply just have to write it on paper and vote, but if then it has restrictions.

I think the real debate should be the rise of right wing extremism, the islamaphobia, and the anti-immigration sweeping the western world. People were so quick to call this an al queda plot before any information had even come in. A disproportionate amount pf resources has been allocated to clamping down on islamic extremism, muslims are being targeted and many feel unfairly while poeple like (and there are plenty more where he came from he has said as much in fact he was in correspondance with 15cothers ready to do the same thing) this are allowed to plot attackf for years and buy tonnes of fertilizer no questions asked.

Justice is a myth. It's impossible for "justice" to ever be served in a case of murder, because even if you kill the killer the innocent dead don't magically arise.

Given that justice is impossible, the goal is removing dangerous people from society. I don't believe however this individual should ever be allowed in society, for what that is worth.

I'm pretty sure he won't be btw. They'll continue to extend the sentence until his death I'd be willing to bet.

In this case, i don't think justice can ever be served because those family members will never come home to their family again. However, in this case, i think that sentence was too lenient because there is still the possibility of him committing future crimes and then if he serves good time in prison there is also the possibility of being released based on good time credit. Those victims will never see their family again and worst of all, they died in pain. His family will still see him again and worst of all, he will be given meal in prison, a place to stay and a bed to sleep on. Do we consider these justice? And do we know if other people will fall victims to him in prison considering the fact that he is highly dangerous? Such a criminal deserves nothing less than the death penalty or in place of the death penalty; life imprisonment. But then again even with all these punishments, will justice ever be served? Certainly not. For the lives of those innocent people can never be restored to them and all their opportunities in life were stolen from them.
