Ramon Gonzalez of San Juan, Texas, was sentenced to life in prison in 2002 for conspiracy to possess and distribute 4,506 kilograms of marijuana, or almost five tons. Patrick Brown of Alexandria, Virginia, was convicted of being a felon in possession of a firearm, as well as possession with intent to distribute cocaine.More than 36,000 federal prisoners have requested volunteer legal advisers to help them prepare clemency requests, and the Clemency Project 2014 said more than 1,500 petitions have been submitted to the Office of the Pardon Attorney, with more to come. Obama's total number of clemency grants to this point is 673 more than the last 10 presidents combined.

All those prisoners in jail are a direct result of this new no fault culture Progressives have ushered in. No father means a child with no discipline or love to grow up and live a responsible life. The Left never addresses the core reasons for all the crime, drugs, unwed pregnancies, etc. etc. The only answers Democrats have for the social ills in our nation, is more and more Government programs paid for by tax payers. The president has 2 options for releasing prisoners. He can call for a pardon which wipes the crime off the criminal's record as if it never happened, and then there is clemency. Clemency is where the criminal is released early, but still has the crime they committed on their record. Obama has done clemency for many people this year and he actually is doing it more than the previous presidents. He is not pardoning more prisoners than the last presidents.
