No, I don't think the world is going to end on Dec. 21, 2012.

I do think, on the other hand, that the world will likely be reborn on Dec. 21 2012.

I think one of two things will happen... 1. The Technological Singularity will being, or 2. We will be introduced to ancient extra-terrestrial life.

Perhaps neither of these things will happen, but I do think that, at the very least, the Mayans thought they were onto something when they ended their calender on that date. Whether or not they were onto something beyond their mere imagination is yet to be seen.

No I don't think that the world will end on December 21, 2011. If something as big as what was going to implode in the earth, scientist would most likely have seen something within space from a certain angle. Its just doesn't fit together in my opinion

No the worlds not going to end. God said no one know the day or the hour when its going to end. Only God the Father knows when He is going to destroy the earth.

When it comes to celestial conjuctions - it takes a long time. It is already more than 1/2 way passed through the 1/2 a degree of conjuction already. The Long Count Calendar cycle of 13-baktun is 5125 years and is roughly 1/5th of a precessional cycle One complete cycle is finished after 25,860 years.
