CreateDebate is a social debate community built around ideas, discussion and democracy.
If this is your first time checking out a debate, here are some quick tips to help get you started:
Arguments with the highest score are displayed first.
Argument replies (both in favor and in opposition) are displayed below the original argument.
To follow along, you may find it helpful to show and hide the replies displayed below each argument.
To vote for an argument, use these icons:
You have the power to cast exactly one vote (either up or down) for each argument.
Once you vote, the icon will become grayed out and the argument's score will change.
Yes, you can change your vote.
Debate scores, side scores and tag scores are automatically calculated by an algorithm that primarily takes argument scores into account.
All scores are updated in real-time.
To learn more about the CreateDebate scoring system, check out the FAQ.
When you are ready to voice your opinion, use the Add Argument button to create an argument.
If you would like to address an existing argument, use the Support and Dispute link within that argument to create a new reply.
Yes, but they shouldn't throw it in anyone's face. I respect that you have a different belief than I do, but don't attack me for it. I'll try not to attack back if you don't ;)
It's not that I don't respect it. It's...people shouldn't pass laws that prevent a portion of the population from being able to do something. If you want to be anti-gay, then that is your prerogative. Don't be friends with gays, and so forth. But banning gay marriage...gay marriage doesn't mean YOU have to be in a gay marriage. That's my biggest problem. But if you're not out trying to pass those laws, if you just want to live your life without involving gay people in it, then it makes no difference to me.

This is such a huge misconception that is severely inaccurate. Gays have always had the right to marry. So not allowing gay marriage should not be looked at as taking away rights, but instead reluctance to recreate marriage laws. That's my take on it.
I believe that with freedom of speech and belief comes the element that there will be those that have opinions and beliefs that others will find objectionable. Whilst I support your right for freedom of speech and belief it won't stop me finding you being anti someone because of something as minor as sexuality, race, religion or whatever objectionable and I will use those same freedoms to voice my objections, so if you want me to respect your freedoms you must respect mine and others freedoms.
I may respect your freedoms but that does not mean I will respect you.
I don't really give a shit of people have a problem with me being gay. The difference is they're not allowed to compromise my rights or safety. You may have your opinion, but don't force it on me. I, in turn, will return the same courtesy.
Yes, I think people who are anti-gay shouldn't get heat from the media, UNLESS they are assholes about it, the same goes for pro-gay (is that even a word?) people.
I believe you should say what you want to say and how you feel. Today we are a bunch a whelps and don't wawwana huwrt anywons feelwings. To hell with that. That's what made the US so different. When we wanted something we made it known. Today we are the laughing stock of the world.
Yes sir. You are so authoritative; I like that. Why don't you come over to my dungeon (its actually just my garage) the side door will be unlocked, come on in I'll already be chained to the wall.
The same reason your cum-guzzling faggot beliefs should be respected.
Don't forget labia-licking lesbian beliefs!
But seriously, in a modern, civilized society, why should an unjust, immoral and antiquated world-view be respected?
It shouldn't and it isn't. That's why your side lost. Get over it. If you want to live in a society where gender discrimination is still acceptable, I guess you'll have to go live in Saudi Arabia...or Russia.
Unjust and immoral? When a guy sticks his dick into another mans ass and releases semen into his body that creates negative chemical reactions which increases the chance of contracting and passing around diseases.
It's like consuming fluoride or something. That shit is just gonna cause bad chemical reactions in your body and make you sick as shit.
People who go around being gay and shit are a danger to our society!

You do know there are several diseases, many of which can be fatal, which can be contracted via heterosexual sex, so by your logic, it's also "scientifically wrong"
Yes, but these diseases are not caused by natural causes. There can be no disease existent between either of the two males before they have sex, but then the disease is created when the semen is released into the other male.
I do know a fair bit of chemistry, and I am not exactly oblivious to how the human body works. Life is chemistry, obviously, so yeah you could say that 'negative' chemical reactions create a higher chance of disease. But in the end of it all, disease is a set of chemical reactions.
I believe it's been proven, and furthermore, it's easily understandable that homosexuals have a higher chance of catching STDs from an infected partner. The rectum isn't exactly designed for sex so it's easily damaged which increases the likelyhood of STDs entering the blood stream. That's true. But it sounds odd that semen should enter the body and react with certain substances in such a way that the immune system gets damaged. I could understand it if semen was highly nutrious which potentially could put ratios between the different kinds of gut bacteria of balance. It just seems unmotivated. I have seen people eat some nasty things, but it didn't seem to damage their immune systems.

Well I am not even referring to that.
But it sounds odd that semen should enter the body and react with certain substances in such a way that the immune system gets damaged.
So? Just because it sounds odd does not mean it is not true.
It just seems unmotivated.
You just don't know enough.

Different things ingested= different chemical reactions. Ever seen someone eat dog shit before? Pretty sure all sicknesses don't damage someones immune systems
So? Just because it sounds odd does not mean it is not true.
True enough. I have given you a reason why I think it's not true. You have yet to give me any reason why it is true. Disputing the arguments against a proposition doesn't make the proposition true.
Actually I am not trolling lol. I know this, but I don't even know where to start...umm maybe start with finding out what the chemical compounds are in semen. Then finding out what chemical reactions happen through out the rectum and the prostate.
Because we get crap like that from people all the time. I know gay people get crap too, maybe if we both respected each other, and didn't use such phrases, while it was quite creative (even though I've never seen someone actually hump a bible).
And you just don't know what "hatin on" people means. It can mean quite a few things, but it should be easy to decipher what It means within the current context.
