Yes, but they shouldn't throw it in anyone's face. I respect that you have a different belief than I do, but don't attack me for it. I'll try not to attack back if you don't ;)

Side: Yes

It's not that I don't respect it. It's...people shouldn't pass laws that prevent a portion of the population from being able to do something. If you want to be anti-gay, then that is your prerogative. Don't be friends with gays, and so forth. But banning gay marriage...gay marriage doesn't mean YOU have to be in a gay marriage. That's my biggest problem. But if you're not out trying to pass those laws, if you just want to live your life without involving gay people in it, then it makes no difference to me.

This is such a huge misconception that is severely inaccurate. Gays have always had the right to marry. So not allowing gay marriage should not be looked at as taking away rights, but instead reluctance to recreate marriage laws. That's my take on it.

I believe that with freedom of speech and belief comes the element that there will be those that have opinions and beliefs that others will find objectionable. Whilst I support your right for freedom of speech and belief it won't stop me finding you being anti someone because of something as minor as sexuality, race, religion or whatever objectionable and I will use those same freedoms to voice my objections, so if you want me to respect your freedoms you must respect mine and others freedoms.

I may respect your freedoms but that does not mean I will respect you.

I don't really give a shit of people have a problem with me being gay. The difference is they're not allowed to compromise my rights or safety. You may have your opinion, but don't force it on me. I, in turn, will return the same courtesy.

Side: Yes

Yes it should be respected. Doesn't mean that those beliefs ought to be taken more seriously than basic human rights, though.

Yes, I think people who are anti-gay shouldn't get heat from the media, UNLESS they are assholes about it, the same goes for pro-gay (is that even a word?) people.

I believe you should say what you want to say and how you feel. Today we are a bunch a whelps and don't wawwana huwrt anywons feelwings. To hell with that. That's what made the US so different. When we wanted something we made it known. Today we are the laughing stock of the world.

I do, it's just that the favor is not returned.

That is the why I posted this question.

Being anti-Gay is not acceptable in today's American society. It is a sign of bigotry.

Because we get crap like that from people all the time. I know gay people get crap too, maybe if we both respected each other, and didn't use such phrases, while it was quite creative (even though I've never seen someone actually hump a bible).

Which version of the bible? There are dozens out there with varying translations and many are at odds with one another on several key points.
